brake fluid reservoir cover sleeve & cap

A buddy of mine came up with this simple idea- an aluminium sleeve that slides over the stock reservoir and an aluminium cap that the stock cap fits into.

This dresses up that (in my opinion) out of place reservoir in front of the X bikes. My friend polished his, I crinkle powdercoated mine to match the chin shroud.

They could be polished, chromed, anodized, or powdercoated in many finishes. My brother is a machinist & can do just about anything. On mine we put flutes on the cap & masked the flutes before powdercoating. I'm not 100% happy with the detail on them. Was thinking the flutes would act as an aid in gripping to twist off, but the crinkle finish is all that is needed.

I think this dresses up the bike quite a bit. We are coming up with a price for these, but need to know what you all think. The first pics are of my buddys bike, with his polished pieces. the last ones are my bike with our upgraded version.

Whaddya think?

Looks much better than the stock white plastic reservoir that looks like an afterthought.

I went with the Rizoma but this would be just as nice. Having options is what it's all about.

Market your for $50 or less

Market your for $50 or less and I think you have a winner. As others have pointed out, we can buy the Rizoma for $67 so you need to be priced less than them since theirs is an actual unit rather than simply a cover. Good luck and it's good to see someone taking the initiative!

I think the chrome one looks best, the black looks chincy to me.

I say they should be available to members here for... ah, $20. I'll take one.
