Thank you! Been wanting to try this. This video will help, I'm a visual learner so this is spot on. After my spring service (today), I'm going to try it!
I am going to take her out for a nice 300km test ride today, I will let you know about the gas mileage, but I may have to do several test rides before I know for sure. thumb up
Others who have done this have commented that it does not lower the MPG any noticeable amount.
Thanks for your kind words on my video, it is always good to hear from you guys after I post them.
Tks, Paul. Wish I had seen your vid before I went thru the battery box to get at the second connector . Oh, well. Know how to do it next time. Very well done and bike runs much nicer without any popping. Expecting it to run cooler when getting into the hot country going to/from Sturgis, also. Regards, Jim
Did this today after a wash and wax. Only had a chance for about a 30 min ride to work, but all seems good. Followed the video step by step.
Thanks for giving me the confidence to try this.
On 2016 and up you have to either spend 60 bucks to get dobrecks optimizers, or just disconnect the black wire in the connection to the sensors.
Some just cut it, but it's simple to pull the pin out of the connection, leaving the heaters connected keeps the check engine light out. Easy peasy!
And you can put it back if it needs to go to the dealer, tho I doubt they'd even notice it.
