Came across a deal I couldn't pass up on a 2010 Cross Roads. Picked it up Saturday in Utah and road it home. Did some cleaning and double checking everything. Threw in some new plugs and had some starting issues. Thought the battery was toast and went to install my tender lead. Found out the connections were just loose! Took it out for a cruise today from home to Swan Valley, Palisades Reservoir, Alpine WY, through the Hoback junction, Jackson Hole, Teton Pass (stopped for a photo), Driggs ID, Pine Creek pass, back to Swan Valley and home. About 230 miles worth of quality riding time!:grin Bike ran perfect and handles like a dream.

Looks like it will be time to start over on the mods again....

Travis, did you see Scooters XR in the for sale section? It's beautiful and won't need anything. Your Dad could buy it and you could do a
fly n ride :devil

Looks like a most excellent ride. Good luck with the new XR.

Very nice ride and in the harder to find crimson color! I test drove a couple of XC's and XR's and IMO the XR handles the curves a little better due to the weight difference on the front forks.

Congrats on the XR! Based off the color I think it's actually a 2011. The only obvious differences between the 10 and 11 are the color, the way the shifter mounts next to the floorboard and the oil change frequency (increased due to new transmission). Can't zoom in far enough to see that mount.

I will have to do some more investigation as to year. I just took the listings info and paperwork for the year. What is the difference on the shifter mounts?

Nice bike!

Regarding the battery, I have medium (blue) thread-locker on the bottom half of the battery-terminal bolts, dielectric grease on the top half, and toothed washers underneath the bolt heads, and snugged up tightly. And I use a smart-charger when it's parked in the garage.

Have fun.

That's a steal for sure. Love that red!

That sure looks like Midnight Cherry paint to me and 2010 was the only year for that until the advent of the Magnum.
MLR1, place lock washers under your battery bolts as they do have a tendency to loosen. I have had my XR since new - over 6 years now - and do all my own work on it. If you have questions, ask away and maybe I'll have answers. Here's a photo of one of your bike's cousins;

They were asking 8K. Had been listed for about a week when I found it. I was surprised that it was still available. Needless to say, I didn't let any grass grow under my feet!

I was aiming to buy a black one, but on the test ride, they escorted me on a Midnight Cherry one and when we came to a rest stop and I saw the sun playing on that red bike, there weren't no way I was going to buy a black one.

Thanks for the links. It has the 10 linkage and as RICZ brought up, that was the only year for that color. Learn something new every day...

The crimson color was an option in 2010 and the early part of 2011 then they switched to sunset red like mine. I am sure yours is a 2010.
