I know the CCT is known for the heat given off, especially on the left side. I just completed a ride from Jersey to Tennessee a couple of weeks ago. While stuck in traffic and with temps in the mid 90s the heat was almost enough to cook a steak.
Question I have: Would wrapping the exposed exhaust pipe with heat wrap help the heat issue. I'm thinking someone out there must have tried this already. Is it worth it to pull the exhaust covers off and wrap the pipes.
Any other suggestions would be great
Thanks

Ya' all know I had to jump in on this one.... :eek
I have several threads on the subject because I've fought with excessive heat for a long time and have been though everything to work it out. I'm going to say it flat out, if you have a "hot XC" any type of wind management under the fairing is going to cause tremendous heat to be felt by the rider/passenger and the greater the management the greater the felt heat. Unfortunately, you're riding a Tour with hard lowers which are the greatest offenders.
So here's the deal....If you want a cooler ride, the lowers will have to go. From there you'll have to find a buffeting control solution that works for you.
Right side way worse .... I never have had heat issues with my hard lowers . I feel heat of course in traffic but nothing like some others have had . Never even thought of removing mine for heat related issues ....
I run a Magnum screen (Boomerang) most of the time . Its 2" high , with my Vic hard lowers I have "0" buffeting at any speed , suffice to say I have to disagree with you on their functionality . :nerd
Oh I don't disagree with you that the lowers help with the buffeting. I was referring to weather protection more than anything. I know that if you pull the lowers you're gonna have to come up with a way to keep from getting your helmet blown off at 65 mph.
@Foto Joe Ahhhh , gotcha ..... I love my lowers for both form and function , ant they are great when cold / rain ... I had the Goody lowers in the beginning , fork mounted but I really like these ....
