Regardless of what "does the trick," having more people growing food while our climate works against them seems like a good idea to me. Even if we have to pay them to use the excess for renewable energy in years of good harvests.

What "excess" are you referring to Saddle? Our short sighted, knee jerk government has MANDATED that 40% of the corn crop go to making ethanol. Your renewable energy costs hundreds times more than established sources. I find it interesting that hydro is not considered renewable. What...rain and snow, which is abundant in the Northwest, is not renewable? I fail to see any logic in that. But then, environmentalism is more about about control and profit than it is about saving the planet, IMO.

Have you missed an ear of corn at a barbeque lately? Me neither. Thus far there has been no shortage i.e. we have an excess. Don't bet your bippie that that'll last forever.

I'll grant you that my Dos Equis is expensive, but hundreds of times more expensive than gasoline? Homey don't think so...

Water would be renewable if we weren't mixing it with carcinogenic organic compounds and shooting it far beneath the earth to prime the NG wells. Then again, maybe as the polar ice caps melt, burying our water may become necessary.

Haven't missed an ear, but paid dearly for it. I can afford it, but there are those who have to make choices. But you aren't concerned about them as long as there's plenty of ethanol and alternative energies.

And that has to do with what???

Not a problem here in the Pacific Northwet.

Seriously? A can of corn here is around $0.60 and you can get a big fresh shucked ear of corn for under $0.50.

Not sure how you come to the conclusion of who or what I care for, but whatever...
