They have been building to good,to comfortable,to dependable and just to darn nice. I have 30,000 mi on my cross roads and have no interest in up dating my 2012. I never had this problem with H.D. However when it comes time to update it will be a VIC. Possibly an Indian. And on another note this is a great site. Thanks to everyone involved.

Check out the Springfield. Its an excellent upgrade to the XR. It has far greater detailing than Vics have. Every piece is sculptured, even the clutch pivot. Dig the attention to detail on the brake pedal and cylinder alone. And if you love chrome, it has acres of it.

+1 on what RICZ said.

I want one right now, but the color choices prevent me from buying one. Amongst other things, Polaris dropped the ball when they didn't paint the Springfield fuggin Springfield Blue... Toying with me, they are.

The Springfield is a nice bike but the Cross Roads has two things that the Springfield doesn't, larger saddlebags and ROOM! I test rode the Indians and I felt very cramped. The ride and power was great but being 6'1" I very much appreciate the leg room on my XR. I don't think there is a bike out there that could get me off my XR at the present time.

I love my Cross Country, without a doubt one of the most enjoyable motorcycles I've ever owned. It's not the fastest or the lightest or the best handling motorcycle I've ever owned but she IS the most enjoyable. She's been like an old familiar friend since day one. I ask her to be reliable, she is; I ask her to be my beast of burden and she does. We have a symbiotic relationship Spike and me. I take care of her and she takes care me of me. I can't walk away from Spike in a parking lot or in my garage without looking back. When you do that, you know you have the right one. She's no doubt a long term keeper.

I like the new Indians. I have sat on them and don't need to ride them to know i'm cramped on them. My cross roads has more leg room then my pick-ups. The fit and Finnish on the new Indians is great. Chrome looks great but I don't want to clean it. I walk to work and have 3 motorcycles that's why only have 30,000 mi. Here's a pic of my 2001 Indian Spirit. To much chrome to keep clean but fun to ride locally.

I'm 5'-10" and shrinking and I have JUST enough room on the Springfield. My impression, when I sat on it is, its a short persons bike. The seat seems lower to the ground than my XR and the boards seem higher. It felt like, if it were mine, I'd have to go to my seat customizer and have him move me back a bit. Not liking the speedo on the tank cos it takes eyes too far off the road and precludes the use of a tank bag.
