Yep I had no trouble and I'm in Australia....downside there $160 AusD.
Gonna keep running mine longer before I change it though.
Just want it in case.
In case they try to screw us over and not supply any more.
Placed an order in Ottawa Ontario Canada 3 weeks ago for a belt and filter and have not heard from them yet.
The belt I thought would be here in about a week and the fuel filter I figure 9-12 months. So far nothing.
@BBob ordered a fuel filter for me a few months ago at DonWood, and after waiting a few months we decided to cancel that order....
Knowing victory policy it wouldn't surprise me if they had a fallout with the fuel filter supplier, in due time this problem will be solved too, same as aftermarket rectifier & starter motors before .... Now no more..... Fuel filters will follow suit...
If you have trouble with them, just wash them out with "electric cleaner without residue" please google
I've got one I took out at 50,000kms, was still working ok.
This cleaner? You mean an ultrasonic like the pros clean carbs with?
Must be ways of testing flow rate compared with a new one.
Asked my old school car tuner mate, he reckoned if there was any fuel flow restriction it'd show on my last dyno run as lean on the A/F ratio....
I finally got a fuel filter Friday. I was told it came with new gasket and bolts. They don't and I ordered them. Another 50 dollars. Polaris had them in stock so they should come in the middle of the week. Ordered a extra set of each so it came to 101 dollars. I'll go with the after market fuel pump in the future. Hell it's just 80 bucks for the pump and filter. Compared to a 110.00 for Victory's filter only.
anyone ever take a peek in the filler hole of the gas tank and see all the chips of paint off on the inside ? ever wonder where those chips go ? stupid that they painted the inside of that so when you stick the filler nozzle in there. chances are you will chip the paint
Someone posted on Facebook as to how they made a filter from one for a different application. It was longer and slimmer. The folded it in half and heat sealed the edges. I'll try and dig it up.
Seems like this is being blown way out of proportion. Any in-tank motorcycle fuel filter can be modified to fit/replace the stock Victory filters. It doesn't matter if the filters come from a Harley, a Yamaha, a Honda, or whatever; it can work as long as some tubing can adapt them.
Someone posted 3rd hand information about the filters I posted about earlier dissolved in the tank. Well I call hogwash on that because there's just no way any company would stay in business if their product dissolved when used as directed. I think it's more likely someone who had a vendetta against that company soaked the filters in some kind of solution, not gas and additives, that would dissolve the filters then posted pictures. It wouldn't be the first time some low-life did something like that.
Quantum fuel systems have Victory fuel pumps and strainers available now for a fraction of Pooralis rip-off prices.
Till now no one's had the guts to try one.
Maybe it's not guts to try it maybe it not throwing money at it until something works. The Vegas and the Cross bikes have entirely different pickup tubes besides the strainer. The Quantum isn't even close, people have bought them and they come with flex hose not the ridged hose that puts the strainer where it needs to be.
EDIT: I see they don't advertise the replacement set up they used to list that people bought and wasn't anything like what they had shown in the photos. They posted photos of it being a direct replacement, wasn't even close.
It was my understanding the original tubing to put the filters in the same place is reused and they come with an adapter tube of maybe an inch long to couple the stock and the new filter. Some said they don't come with a wormgear clamp which makes sense. The tubing is all under suction; not pressure so as long as the fit is good and tight it should stay permanently. Hey! Why spend $80 or $90 on a Vic filter when these will do just as good.
I should buy a set and give it a try if for no other reason than my fuel filters are 6 years old now but with less than 30k miles. The quality of gas is what will determine the need for changing filters anyway. I changed the fuel filters in my KP last summer when I painted it.
I guess I should just go ahead an order a set then when I do it I can take some pics and let folks know what's involved. I mean this should be an easy project even if I have to take a little trip to Autozone and match up some gas grade tubing to adapt the existing tube to whatever they send.
Just took this pic of the last fuel filter I changed on my Vegas... If the Quantum pushes into the pipe the way the original would, then I'd push it in and use.
This one is well over a year since it was changed. Got exact date written in my book some where.
Pipes now hard from sitting exposed to air.
Well I just tried to order a set of socks from that site and it must be broken because it would not let me finish the transaction. It's almost like someone set it up so it would frustrate the buyer. I even turned the script and ad blocker off for the site. Weird. Shot them an email to see what's up. Never seen this before and I order a lot of stuff online.
For all the people out there with the Cross Country and Cross Country Tour, Cross Roads. I just got off the phone with Quantum fuel systems they were never told that the filter they have listed is not for the Cross Country. He said that if I send them a picture ( I did ) of the proper filter they will try to match it to one of there filters, If not he said they would be clad to make the filters for us. but he also said that
they might need an old filter to use as a sample. I don't have one to send if needed. But maybe someone out there does. All we can do is hope they can help.
All I can say is I tried, I will keep trying. the person I talked to seemed very concerned that the filter they were listing for a Cross Country was actually for
the Vegas or Hammer and did not fit the Cross Country. I have an Email address and name so I will give them a day or so to get back to me
and then I will try again. Even if they do make a filter, it will be just the filter and we'll have to figure out how to get the old filter off the tubing and put
the new filter on. seems to me there must be away to do it. I just changed mine in Dec. but tossed the old one away, so I don't have anything to experiment with. I was able to buy just the filter from a place called Vicpartz so I do have a new filter but again no way of experimenting to get the old filter off the tubing and new filter on. Sorry if I got peoples hopes up but I will keep trying. By the way Vicpartz doesn't have anymore filters. RIDE SAFE!
Scroll back in this or the other fuel filter thread there's a pic of my old Vegas filter, it has a push in join right at the bottom of the pipe, you won't have to scroll back far to find the pics I put up, there's a close up of the join.
Already posted them twice so just scroll back.
This is off my Vegas...
I'd like to see a pic of a filter off an XC,XCT, XR to compare.
the picture of the filter that Motorbikerx posted looks like the filter they have listed for the XC that doesn't fit. but the joint that connects the filter to the
tubing looks the same as the one on the XC if NOEMTS or anyone else has an old filter just for Shits and giggles try to pull the filter of the tubing. Maybe
Mom Vic as been pulling a fast one on us all along. making us pay $100.00 for a $20.00 filter. now that would piss me off.
Try $160 for a $10 filter once in lands in OZ
Probably made with cheap Chinese Labor for $1.95
My old ones been out of the tank for almost 2 years now, the pipes fairly hard so not gonna try to budge it, if it was fuel soft I may give it a go but without one of the cheapies to try to plug back in, I'll leave that exercise to someone else.
What I'd like to try is dropping my old one in an ultrasonic carb cleaner.... Have you seen how squeaky clean carb parts come out of those?
We get screwed on all parts, most just accept it, I try to get what I can through our mate Paulie@hondaeasttoledo
even with freight and the lousy Aussie peso it's worth dealing with him.
As far as fuel filters go though I had my name down for one over a year ago and when it wasnt forthcoming , Paulie got me the Lloydz primary strengthening plate instead.
Hmmm... I wish I could say that helps us in some way but it doesn't.
Just like when a bunch of us pioneered the X bikes mods starting in 2010 and 2011; we will just have to pioneer this. No biggie. No one person did it all but working together we figured out everything from the best way to modify stock exhausts to tuning and cam installs.
I dunno guys. I just watched the video below with Rylan removing the fuel pump and filter from an X-bike and it has a flex hose. To save time start at 2:35. I'm just not seeing how this would be a big deal.

Yes, it is a (flex Hose) but it has a fixed shape to it that holds the filter to the bottom of the tank. Without the fixed shape the filter could end up at any height in the tank and you would not be able to use the complete tank of gas.
I think your missing the point. the tubing is not the problem. We can't get the filter sock apparently no one makes one.
other wise we would have figured out a way to use the original tubing. if you know of a place to get a filter sock that will fit into the little space in the back of the tank please let us know.
I ordered the socks from Quantum and will post pictures when I get them.
If they look anything like what they show on their website it will just be a matter of some gas safe tubing connecting the existing tubing to the new socks. Once again; way overblown issue.
I'm not sure why people are making a mountain out of such a tiny molehill issue.
The socks will be here tomorrow or Monday so I will have more definitive info at that time. I ordered the socks for the 2010-2012 X-bikes.
