Ignition coil number.

Hi everyone it's been a while since I posted so hope everyone is good.

I think it's time to replace my ignition coil. No problem starting or anything but bike starts to run rough after about half an hour riding. Like I said it starts without any problem, engine runs smooth as butter for about half an hour regardless of speed or the rpm but after riding for a while it starts to run rough and this weird vibration starts, regardless of the speed or the rpm. But if I stop for ten fifteen minutes and get back on the bike it's smooth again for a while.

So my guess is with the engine heat and stuff my coils are failing to produce enough spark and that's when the vibration starts.

Now here is my question after all that...I've read while back ago now I can't find the info after doing the search. Some one said they sell the replacement coils at the local auto parts store but I can't find the part number for it. I know the stock part is asm 2410266 but does anyone know what is the part number for the replacement part from the auto part store?

Also any other suggestions about the getting rid of the vibration is greatly appreciated.

Oh I just changed the spark plugs and I still have the problem and the old ones looked pretty good except they were just worn.

I seriously doubt it is the coil - I've never had to replace one on your year of bike in my 10 years of working on Vic's

I'd start with charging voltage/battery condition, also fuel pressure, clean throttle bodies without air leaks, and maybe a throttle sweep for good measure.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Fuel pump is brand new. It's got about 2k miles on it, but I do think it's time for a new battery. But in the mean time I will check and clean everyting.
Thank you again.

sounds like a vacuum leak, when cold it is OK. But after it warms up it starts to suck air..

If your coil was going bad you would get loud back fire. No not a shifting pop but a back fire under acceleration.
Have your battery test and you'll know the strength of it.
Like the man said look for vacuum leaks.

Thanks for the replies guys. After reading vicbuilders post and my reply I was thinking problem can't be dirt. If that was the case bike would run rough regardless of being cold or hot.

I'll check the battery and the vacuum lines. I'll keep you guys posted.
Thanks again.
