This is to satisfy my own curiosity, if you could help me out with something, I wanna know what if any kind of issues that you have had with your victory motorcycle, We can set aside all maintenance stuff, oil changes, spark plugs, filters and stuff like that, I wanna know that if at mile mark 20,xxx you had to replace a worn out footpeg or something like that. I would say label it for example like the following.

Year-2009
Model-Vegas
Issue #1 at mileage 18777
Replaced Voltage rectifier

Issue #2 at mileage 24463
Rear wheel bearing replaced.

I am starting to compile stuff for my own list and need more info to add it to the mix. Don't have to exact on the mileage but kinda close would be nice and I wanna hear all issues, big and small.

At about 25K miles, I removed the rear shock rocker to see if it was dry. It was nice and juicy, but I noticed that it had been rotating and had enlarged the rear support hole a tad. Fortunately, the forward hole was OK. The repair was to machine a new shaft with a larger diameter where it sits in the aft hole. I also made it longer and provided a hole so the rearmost of the two securing screws can sink into it, thus holding it tightly and preventing rotation. I also inserted a zerk fitting into the rocker so I can lube it occasionally.

2012 XCT 443 MILES, Gasket went south right hand side of bike and blew about a quart of oil down the side of the bike.

30,000 give or take rear head gasket blew.

I had a couple of rear shocks blow but I'm not sure on the mileage on the first. The second blew at right around 32,000. Now have traxxion (Penske), clutch cable about this time as well

Radio has been crap since around 50,000 miles.

80,000 give or take and the cruise control now will not release from rear brakes and its hit and miss if it will release with front brake.

Presently at 133,000 + and it uses a quart of oil every 2500 miles.

HOWEVER I am still on the original drive belt which very well may outlast the motor.

At 400 MI my fuel line blew off the tank and shot a gallon of fuel all over me , and my bike . This was the same week I found out my key did not fit my saddlebags and I needed a whole new lock set ....Im so distraught right now I cant think straight ... here is my newest issue ....

And I got the feeling when I called my dealer they could'nt care less.....

Own three 2012 Vic XCT bikes. Only problem has been right side saddlebag latch wear on all three and on one of them I had to replace the rectifier/regulator at about 9000 miles.

G'day,

Vinish

Wifes bike 2014 XR 8 ball Mine 2014 XC 8 ball.

When new, wifes XR's valve train has a tick at idle. Dealer assures her it will go away during break in. It doesn't. When it gets louder and we request it to be fixed 2 of 4 dealers contact Victory on our behalf at different times. Victory states both times it does not yet met their criteria for repair, but admit it isn't right.

550 miles Wifes XR starts stalling. First time with me driving then eventually 3 to 7 times a week with her driving. Often once a day. It's her daily driver. Battery cables are tight. She incorporates SSVTCP (Secret special Victory throttle control procedure) into her driving. Bike still stalls. This goes on all season. Dealers can't duplicate problem during test ride. I ride bike and bike stalls. :frown Problem eventually solved at about 8000 miles but stalls many time getting there.

900 miles my XC rear suspension rocker shaft is discovered to be turning in the frame, eating out rear frame bore. Rear suspension rocker bearings are embedded in shaft. It eventually gets fixed. I eventually get new parts from Victory except for the frame through the dealer, but am stuck disassembling the bike and repairing the frame myself so that the parts will not just fail again immediately.

Wifes XR
3000 miles intermittent trashing machine noises from top end start. Looses power and feels and sounds like it's going to come apart. Soon daily, always at freeway speed. Eventually front cam chain tensioner is replaced under warranty by 8000 miles which also solve tick at idle, listed first above.

Both
First oil analysis leads to realization that casting defects in the front frame sections of both bikes are allowing dirt to migrate past the air filters. Found low spot at center of where air filter seats to frame casting. Neither frame filled out completely during casting process. This low spot allows dirt to bypass air filter gasket. Fixed by filling in low spot with shoe goo.

XR & XC
At 18 months both Victory High performance filters fail because the rubber in the gaskets is not compatible with air cleaner oil.
I take them out.

My bike develops intermittent stalling about 9000 miles only on rare occasions. Almost puts me under a truck. :frown ( battery cables checked and are tight ) Shortly I spend money and time coming up with a fix for the stalling issue and succeed. Install same parts on wife's bike and her bike stops stalling. Become hero at home. :smile

Around 1 yr both bikes right hand saddlebag latches get replaced because of excessive wear. 8-10,000 miles respectively.

Can't think of anything else.

Tyres keep wearing out every 8000kms and I have to change the oil and filter at those intervals too.
Oh and it attracted a Bull Arab dog that took me down but that's not the bikes fault.
Still off the road following the aftermath of the dog incident.
Over 60,000 kms and nothing more than maintenance and dogs!

Starter clutch failed at 43,000 miles, had to be replaced. ABS brakes have never worked reliably, now ABS light is on full time. Now at 52,000 miles.

My bike had a tendency to stall near idle too UNTIL I installed the VFC. Wild how different these bikes could be.

Around 40k, clutch cable broke. Could be lack of maintenance on my part, but left me stranded.
Found this video and now I carry one of these with me.

Torque Compensator replaced/upgraded under warranty at 8K miles. Fork seal at 25K, Clutch cable broke in my driveway (whew!) at about 32 K....That's it

On my Kingpin the clutch cable broke at 28K and drive belt broke at 32K miles. Both happened at less than convenient spots but in both cases could have been worse.

Nothing on my Vision, except the clutch started slipping at around 9K. Victory said it was not a warranty item. It does it very intermittently so I have lived with it. I will probably do the timing wheel cam thing soon and will replace it then, currently at 20K.

10,000 miles my kickstand bent, Victory told me to eat it. Now at 25,000 miles it is getting there again. This time I'm going to add some angle steel to the spine of it and save the $135.

I'm also on my 3rd Klockwerks screen and it has been cracked as well for 20,000 miles.

I have some noticeable increase in engine rattle but not severe and switched to Amsoil and much less noise and much less heat, disconnecting the O2 sensors helped a bunch as well.

Adjust the belt every season I'm not adding tires and it has been very reliable for me. Best bike I've ever had.

Change the oil, lube the clutch and ride the tires off.

35,500 miles and the only problem I've had that I didn't create myself was the warrantied rt. bag latch wear problem. My bike has actually been remarkably tolerant of my "shade-tree mechanic-ness" ;)

The MAJOR issue I fought with most of last season and through the beginning of this one was my bikes strange proclivity to produce intolerable amounts of heat when engine upgrades are done, specifically timing advance.

I forgot my timing cover was gushing oil all over my back tire causing a very dangerous riding condition .... My bike had 8 miles on it when I noticed that ...... The gasket was folded over at the bottom during production ....

2004 Vegas clutch cable at 8000 speed sensor at 10-12000 miles and starter at around 20,000 miles sold at 48,000 no more problems.
