Run the shit out of the bike with no airflow across the engine to cool it... That's the dumbest thing to do with an air cooled motorcycle. I would never treat my equipment like that.

Talkin about sponge baths, I gave her some stick last night.
The Vegas that is, soon as it got up in the cams under hard acceleration the Barnett Scorpion slipped.
Ok under normal duress but lean on it and arrrrrgh.
Stronger springs going in when the primary off to do the shift ratchet.

Late Sunday night here so it's Sunday morning there.
Can't ring Kevinx cos he's probably out riding.
It's looking more and more like the shift ratchet causing my down shift problems.
They're $58 USD over there and $158 AUSD here, by the time..... This has been too long so I'll bite the bullet for the sake of not having to wait up to 2 weeks to get it.
I really can't understand why we didn't order it initially, nor the valve stem seals, but it is what it is and I'll put some cash into my bank account early morning soon as they open then ring Victory Melbourne and get the shift ratchet in the mail to me ASAP.
Question @half_crazy or @kevinx if he's here today or anyone else who's had shift ratchet (9) replacement experience.
In the exploded view there's a spring (8) that goes behind the shift ratchet, it looks reasonably heavy duty in size anyway.
I'm wondering if I'd better order it as well.
Tutorials I've read on swapping ratchets mention reusing the old spring.
What do you think?
Not really worth a gamble on it is it?

Shift Ratchet wear seems fairly commonplace on Vic's that get ridden regularly and cover a lot if miles.
Another fix may be to weld where the wear is and grind it back flat to original dimensions?

You wouldn't worry about doing that for a fifty buck part I guess but for $160 here is could be a viable option?
Your thoughts?
