Well I got my dyno done and to be honest I feel gains but very little. When I brought the bike to them to be tuned (while I was there) they froze up the power commander with a firmware update. Before he did, I was watching him goof around with some stuff. 1 thing was loading maps from dyno jets website but I don't know why. Then he did the firmware and shut it down.
The curves look good but the AFR at beginning and end is whacked looking to me. I don't know if the whole power commander freeze up frustrated him so he just hurried it or ????? I know they had somewhere to be in the next few days. He tuned the bike when it was 102 F which seems odd to me also. Seems like the temps could really affect things. Anyways hoping for some input.
I don't know if it's the photo quality or what, but I don't see any torque curves; I only see HP curves. Also, it looks like your AFR is kind of lean at the lower and higher speeds. Weird that he has the graph set up for speed instead of RPM. I don't own or run a dyno, but from what I've seen this is out of the ordinary,
Yeah I need to talk to him he was not there when I picked it up. He had to go out of town. I'm just trying to gather info so I can talk to him knowledgeably.
I dont think he knows what he is doing. Here is my curves: as you can see, the red is the baseline measurement. The blue is the tuned data. I went from 83Hp /104 ft lbs torque to 95 HP / 111 ft lbs torque. And believe me , i notice it.
Last night I got a hold of the other tuner. He went over the whole process and explained how and why it all works. I am certain this guy knows his $hit. He is still out till August with life situations being in the way. He asked me what it was I wanted from the tune. I told him all I care is that I know my bike is running the best it possibly can for what I have done to it. He said he is confident he can achieve that for me.
Now this is where it gets humbling.
He told me he loves playing with the dyno and has never tuned a Victory. He said he would do the work free of charge as he was bummed about my half a$$ tune. He? The one who doesn't have my money do it for free? He said he would do it just for the knowledge of how Victory's tune so it would be win win for both of us in his own words. Just let it be known there are amazing people out there looking out for each other. This guy doesn't even know me and offers up his time for free? I am just in Awe!
Excellent! So maybe start by telling us who this new guy is and where he works. So far, he sounds great in that he wants to help you and himself. I love a win/win situation. Sing this guys praises from the roof tops for his offer.
Well sad thing is he is trying to sell the dyno as he has had some life changes. he is Redline performance in White City Oregon. He is a mobile Dyno and does mostly events. This guy is just very down to Earth and just as nice as can be obviously. https://www.facebook.com/mobildyno/
