VIN Question

Just bought a 09 jackpot (orange crush). Awesome Bike. It rained this weekend of course so I decided to go through the manual. On the VIN page of the manual there is a number code for engine hp. Either its a 6 (78 to 94) hp or 7 (95 to 115). I have a 6. I thought all jackpots excluding California models to have 97 hp with the 106 engine. What did they do put a California engine on a 49 state model? This really pissed me off! Called Victory, they told me to talk to my dealer. My dealer never knew about this. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks.

What is the Series code?

Maybe you are misunderstanding what you are reading.

78-94 means 78hp TO 94hp in that RANGE would be the California emissions bike.

95hp TO 115hp in that RANGE would be the Domestic 49 state bike.

97hp is IN the RANGE of the Domestic (49 state) bike.

Another thing, I haven't heard of any Vics coming out of the factory with 115.

Your bike is the average.

Thanks for the reply Diamond. I live in New York. The series code is D, so its a domestic model. So why would there be a 6 in the VIN when there should be a 7 for a advertised 97 hp bike.

I'm going to move this thread to the Tech forum so KevinX can take a look at it. He can answer your question.
