Oil Change

I am a newbie with a 2006 Vegas Jackpot. I am performing an oil change and have been told that pure synthetic oil is the best. In the owners manual it says that 20w40 oil is recommended. I have 20w50 synthetic. Will that work OK

Pure olive oil works best.....change every 500 miles.......

Google the question you have and you might get a solid answer... Might as well ask if voting republican or democrat.....

Not being a P.I.T.A, but the question about which motorcycle oil is best is more suited over a few cold ones (make that 3 - 12 packs)....

Stick with the manual until you've read the millions of search results from google.....

I've heard both good and bad about using full synthetic and the synthetic blends. Personally I've been using the oil my shop sells, and whether or not I can do better than that, I don't know. My bike runs very well with the oil I get from my Vic shop and as far as I know, it's a synthetic blend.

One vote against full synthetic, I have been told, is that it can cause the clutch to slip in some bikes. There's boatloads of information about oils online but Kevinx would be a great resource to answer this one.

Stick with the manual. Use the semi synthetic blend. Personally Victory only oil for my bike.

Also if you use the search feature you will find a few threads on this topic.
