Man,

That is some crazy looking healing process. Wish you the best bro. All in all as long as you can get back to functioning like before, all of this will be nothing. I tore my leg back on a jump, took me a year to walk again, not even run. You will get there, positive mental attitude.

Good luck. Rehab is the key.

Yeah, I guess that big monkey brain hanging down is supposed to shrink, because it's actually a muscle... so without it doing what it was designed to do it'll atrophy, and just become meat lol. This is a very long process, but I hope with my age and fitness level that I'll get better faster. This is the last attempt. If this fails I've decided not to try and keep it anymore, if it fails I'll push for an amputation, but i don't think it'll come to that. It's pretty amazing what they can do these days. So for now I'm sitting around even more than before, playing PS3, and growing my beard! Been looking into some light projects for when I can walk again, but for now bikes aren't in the mix.

For God's sake Corn, you got time on your hands now, get off the Playstation and exercise that monkey!

When I get caught, I use rehabilitation as an excuse too.

Best of luck with the new heal. I'm still rootin for ya!

Well, surgery +4 weeks and things are the same but better if that makes sense. Still chair bound but the "New" heel is ... well... healing. I have a couple of appointments in the next couple weeks with both my ortho and my plastic surgeon, so I hope between the two of them I'll be able to get a round about time frame for me walking. The amount of collateral damage from this accident is truly daunting. By my own choice I'm not gonna be riding for a long while, just too many idiots out there and too many cell phones, but on a fun note, I'll be working with the guy who bought my bike to rebuild it! I'm attaching a pic of my heel from one week after the surgery, and one from today... notice how it's starting to look like skin and it's shrinking, totally amazed.
