I have a 2008 Vegas 8-ball with 18000 miles on it it has the 100ci and 5speed there is a clacking sound that occurs in the Tranny when bike is I any gear the noise increases speed as the real wheel increases speed I checked the compensator and found it has slight wear on it so I added 0.010 to the compensator to take up some slack and the noise still occurs any info on this
It occurs with clutch pulled in or clutch released in every gear going down the road or sitting still when your coasting it does it all the time gets louder as oil heats up
Yes it's there when as soon as the bike starts up you can hear it in the rear of the primary im lost as to what it is I've had a couple people tell me it's completely normal but being a technician it doesn't sound normal
I'd be willing to say that the noise you are hearing is normal. These transmissions are built very well and as a result of being so beefy they are louder than what may consider normal. Is there any way you can have a friend shoot some video of you for this? This type of thing is near impossible to troubleshoot without sound/video...
Thanks guys I'm gunna ride it tonight and I'll video it again going down the road
