I rode up from Spokane to the Ainsworth Hot Springs a couple years ago. Very beautiful country you have up there.
I've been told by many US folks that have visited western Canada, "it is some of the most scenic in North America.
cheers
I grew up on the west coast of B.C. so I was use to seeing the mountains all the time, I rode my dirt bikes in them when I was a kid.

Yep, Calgary based. Mostly local riding but did parts of WA, Idaho and Montana this summer, and LOVED it as well.
And yes, have been shovelling snow as well.

Bo: Yeh, THAT's the answer, move and store her to the warm, and avoid the cold entirely. Hope you get some fun miles during winter visits to see Mistress!!.
Hoping to trailer south in Jan or Feb, either AZ or San Diego area. for a couple of weeks (hopefully)

Yep, I get 3 extra months of ridin that way. :D
If you go to AZ in Jan/Feb riding at the lower elevations is great but you may need to plan the higher ones with the weather. Have fun.

Same here. Passed 5 years I've been going into the rockies for a trip, this year will be the first time on my Vegas. Should be a little more comfortable than the sport bike. Can't freaking wait!!!

Coming up for a family reunion with my side of the family that live in Alberta. We were there 6 years ago also drove across from Seattle, WA:). with the family. It was the most beautiful drive ever. They live in Whitecourt,Edson, and in that general area. I have never ridden that far but with the new bike think I can make it. Taking 10 days for the round trip. Looking forward to it.

Should be doable, especially at that time of the year with the longer daylight. Let us know if and when that firms up. 100th Anniversary of the Calgary Stampede, IF you could work that in, it should be special with all the planning they're doing for the Centennial year.

I'm in Edson. I just bought a 2011 Crossroads (like, 4 days ago!:D:D) and can't wait for spring! My gf and I are already planning trips to the mountains and maybe Vancouver this summer.

Oops! I was just checking the website and the Salmon Arm Stomp was cancelled last year. There's no word on whether an event will be held this year either. My brother has gone there before and he said it was a good time. Oh, well...

Someone has to organize an AB ride is all. It's tough when everyone is busy with work and family. I propose A weekly or bi weekly ride, that way it will go for sure, if you can make it great, if not, maybe next time. Maybe alternate out of Calgary and Edmonchuck. Just some thoughts, what do you tink?
