This "Great Lakes West" forum seems to be a little light on activity but thought I'd ask anyway: Any Chicago riders around? I cannot recall the last time I actually saw another Victory in the wild...

I live two miles from Randy's Cycles. My wife and I rode my Jackpot to Lake Lawn on Lake Delavan this Sunday. There were two other unrelated Victory cycles there. I have a great back roads route to the Lake Geneva/Delavan areas if anyone ever wanted to get together a group ride.

Not in the slightest. thumb up

The VTX, like pretty much all Hondas, are great machines---damn near bulletproof---and mine was no exception. That said, I've put about 1500 miles on my Vegas and every indication is that the same level of quality and reliability is present.

Hey guys....south suburbs here (Orland)....season's pretty much over, but looking forward to meeting up for some rides next spring. My 1st Vic should be arriving this week, hoping the weather cooperates so I can at least take it around the neighborhood and get used to the JP's 250 rear.

Cool. Good idea riding around the neighborhood. That's the hardest part to get used to, slow corners. Highway riding is a breeze. Won't take you to long to get used to it. Enjoy!

Good to hear...I'm coming from a 180 on the Honda....the used JP I test rode at Randys a couple months back had a Metzeler on it and didn't seem bad in the turns....haven't heard much good about the Dunlops....I've already started pricing Metz's online.....which leads me to a question for the locals...anyone have a good place you trust to demount/mount and balance tires on these chrome wheels....I'm paranoid about getting it back scratched.

Why not send this to the top...

I'm on the NW side of Chicago riding on a black 10' XR with blue pinstripes. I spend an awful lot of time in southern Wis. and in the Elkhorn area. A+ Powersport are my go to folks since I'm near them most of the summer. Don't be afraid to say hi if you see me.

One tip for riding in Wisconsin. Follow those brown "Rustic Road" signs that pepper the state. They're quite fun!

At the AVR 2012, I heard that Victory has built 88,000 cycles. Take out the ones on dealership showrooms and the ones in the junkyards, there's not that many out there on the streets. Harley, by comparison, builds over 88,000 cycles/year.

Here in Hoffman Estates. Bought my XCT used but it originally came from Carol Stream. Loving it so far. Need some good weather here. I would settle for 40 n no slush.
