Default Americade 2014

Is anyone planning on attending bike week in Lake George NY this year? Runs from June 2-June 7. I am planning on being there June 4 as it is the only day I can make it due to work. Hope to be able to meet some members and take a ride.

Thinking about a one day trip up. Not sure on which day, weather dependent. I would like to extend a weekend to do it.

my wife and i will most likely be up there the 6th and 7th providing no issues in the mean time. we would be up earlier in the week except the grandparents are going up at the beginning and it leaves nobody to watch the kids. damn school... lol

Me and Pretty Wife did the day trip ride to Americade yesterday. Some liquid sunshine kept us running on a slow bell half way up but, skies cleared as we got closer. This is our second visit to the Lake George Rally and we definitely noticed a difference in attendance. We spent four days last year and the main street/vendor areas were crowded with bikes and people, this year not so much. The other riders we spoke with had the same view. The main vendor (tour expo) had open spaces on the pavement, unlike last year. Not so good for the local business owners.

We took a demo ride on our first Indian model (Vintage) and we liked it. For me, lots of torque and that clutch, damn so light. For her the seat was surprisingly comfy and she liked how it elevated her view above my helmet, which she said was higher than ourXCT. We didn't get on a Chieftain. I test rode a Yamaha FZ-09 and that was wicked fun! Overall, a fun day. Here's some photos from yesterday:

Thanks for the pics! Had a great time there as well. It did seem pretty mellow early in the week which was nice.

My pleasure! Yeah, I would expect it's very crowded today and the rest of the weekend as the Rally is over on Sunday. I know you can't judge the entire Rally on just one day, I was comparing yesterday to a week day we were there last year. I agree, it's better when it's less crowded.
