Exhaust splitting

Has anyone ever heard of this or know anything about it? I guess it has something to do with punching a nail or screw up through the end of your exhaust. It was a practice that use years ago and was believed to increase horsepower. Some people swear by it and others think it's hogwash!

hogwash my friend, as far as i know anyway. the only thing that does is make it louder depending on where you put the hole
