2004 fuel controller?

so to start off I tried searching for the information but the 2004 Vegas seems to be fairly scarce for information or I just suck at looking lol.
so now like the title states I was curious if any one would recommend getting a fuel controller for a 2004 Vegas with the Santa Rosa pipes and what I believe to be the Ness air box. and on that note I'm having no luck finding what controller I should get. I'm new to the fuel controlling game having come from carburetors for all the tuning needs. I'm also curious whether any fuel controllers are plug and play or wire in? so any recommendations would be appreciated?
oh if I posted this in the wrong section I apologize because I cant seem to figure out if there are different sections to post in like maintenance or performance.

my bike doesn't have a fuel controller as far as I am aware, but then again FI is fairly new to me for tuning or at least the need to tune so I may not know where one would be if it did. I removed the tank and seat shortly after getting it to clean the throttle bodies to help a rough cold idle which it did, but I didn't see a fuel controller. also thanks for the links, anything that would help a new guy to the PC3? ill probably get that one that way I have the option to go past stage 1.

actually that brings up another question, I have been reading about mods for the Vegas, so the 92CI, is it supposed to have O2 sensors to remove that makes it run a bit richer to help when doing the intake and exhaust mods? or do yall think that my bike might be running a bit lean? I have looked at my plugs when I swapped them and they were slightly darker tan than stoich and the Santa Rosa pipes are gold with just some normal burbling on decal, the low speed cruising does get a tad jerky when trying to go through a parking lot at like 5 MPH thought. from what I have read though that could just be an old intake coupler (the rubber boot between the engine and the throttle bodies).

If it has a PC3, it will be inline to the ECM harness (ECM is mounted to the back side of the battery box). Doesn't have a long harness, so should be easy to spot. Take a good look at the rubber on the intake below the throttle body. It has been known to crack over time. Try a TPS range reset to see if that helps on the surging at low speed. Mine was really bad and I had to replace the TPS after trying everything else. Runs like a champ now. Don't believe the older bikes had 02 sensors, but could be wrong. I know my 03 doesn't have them.

I live in northern California so the vic shop you linked is a ways away, ill look for a closer one though. ill pull the throttle bodies if I can from above and check and probably replace the rubber boot, the bike has 11 year and 18,000 miles and I don't know if that has been swapped so it very well could be cracked. I was pretty sure it never had O2 sensors but wasn't 100% sure. if I look at the boot and its good then I will do the TPS reset, I'm guessing that's in the service manual. if it isn't in the service manual or if there is an easier way I would welcome some guidance there, otherwise I will just do it per the manual. either way looks like the PC3 from Lloyds will be a purchase as soon as finances will allow. thanks for all the input guys!... and possibly Gals?

There is an easy way to check for cracks/leaks without having to take anything apart. Get a can of starting fluid and spray a small amount around the boot while bike is at idle. If it revs, you have a leak. Mine still has the original boot and it's an 03, so it could be fine.

Throttle point reset procedure is as follows:

Key on switch on engine off
Slow 5 count rotate throttle to wide open
Hold throttle open for slow 5 count
Let throttle snap shut
Cycle kill switch
Start motor

.. There are vacuum line caps that will tend to crack also. Behind right side cheese wedge. The 92 is a great motor .Your bike may have been remapped when the pipes and filter were installed. If your plugs are running tan it does not sound like it is too lean. If your bike has a fuel controller, I would think you would see it under the seat or more likely behind one of the side covers. Best thing you did was to clean the throttle bodies. You will know when they need cleaning (about every 5000 mi.) as the idle will start to drop off and become erratic.

ok so sounds like ill try the starter fluid method... my other bike is a buell so I'm used to just pulling it apart and checking because its easy and easier to tell than starter fluid. then if that checks out or before ill do the throttle reset as described. so am I doing it wrong? I cant get the right side cheese wedge off, it looks like its welded to some lines behind it... also I'm going to have to swap the battery anyway, she doesn't always want to crank normal like when warm. well I should say I'm going to check the battery and probably end up swapping it anyway lol. while I'm doing that I'm going to look a bit harder for a fuel controller.

The wedge itself should just pull off that metal frame as it is attached with grommets. the frame with the oil lines stay attached to the motor. ...while you are checking the tbs for leaks you may want to spray around the fuel injectors too as the o-rings on them can go bad.

so I took out the battery and tested it to find only 12 volts even, so new battery it is lol. while running she was charging at 14.16-14.20 volts. while I was at it I looked around for a fuel controller and could not find one anywhere under the seat or anywhere in the area. so unless it could be under the tank, which doesn't seem likely to me but I could be wrong, then I'm fairly sure I don't have one. I took some pictures of some plugs under the seat that I'm not sure what they go to. the 4 covered plugs I'm guessing go to the HID set up? I don't have HIDS so I'm assuming that's why they are covered. now the other two that are uncovered I don't know what they should go to, any ideas? also soon I will get some starter fluid and check the condition of the manifold boot or the injector O-rings and update later.

I can't help on the plugs, but my '04 has similar mods with a PC3, and I'm satisfied. I plan to get my LM-2 wideband set up to log the bike next spring and make some tweaks, but as of now the bike makes great power and even does well when cracking the throttle to downshift.

Yes the Vic Shop is far away but then Lloydz is in New York.
Rylan at the vic shop seems to help guys more. Send him a photo of them connectors and ash him what they are.
Who ever you buy a controller from tell him everything about the bike and ask for a program to be set up in it
