Hello everyone, I just bought a new 2016 vegas and got about a 1000 miles on it. Was looking to change the stock air filter with the K&N. Is it ok to change now or should I wait till the maintenance period which I believe is 5,000 miles?
the k+N factory upgrade helps only a little. i took mine out of my 13 hammer, prolly the same + yours for $20 + ship from PA. lots of better options but a bit more $$. theres the cheap ness filter i used under 200, then S+S aka Lloydz about 300 more bling that you really cant see with a removable top for easier cleaning + the grandaddy of performance torque tubes over 500, all the later replace the air box + require tank removal for installation. quite a few goodies are easy bolt-ons for better performance!!!
Save your money and don't buy the K&N until you can afford one of the intakes rodhotter mentioned. You'll feel more from a 1/4 throttle ring than you will from the K&N(you don't gain any power from the ring just better throttle response).
