: Release DATE?!?!?!
mbc2237 12-02-2009, 03:49 PM Ok, i have a deposit down at my local dealer and he is still saying that he doesnt have a firm release date. I have searched all over the friggin internet for a release date for the 2010's but cant find ANYTHING! I have seen a few posts about people "just buying them" but i dont know if that means it is sitting at home in their garage or if they have just "paid" for one. Anyone have info on this????
thanks a BUNCH in advance.
diamondrmp 12-02-2009, 03:52 PM 2010's are already in some showrooms. Not all dealers have them yet but its been close to a month now since the first 2010's were delivered.
dmello 12-04-2009, 02:42 PM I've had my CC for 3 weeks now. The more I ride it the more I like it.
Walter 12-11-2009, 08:55 PM 2010 are in some dealers. I picked my 2010 Cross Country up at my dealers 3 weeks ago. A few local dealers cant get a look at one while other dealers have no problems.
kevinx 12-11-2009, 09:23 PM We have both in stock at work for sale

Don't call "customer service" they don't know and won't put you in touch with someone who does. Dealers don't know, because regional sales reps don't know. Kind of strange that you can't at least find out when your bike will be delivered.
xcrider 12-15-2009, 12:05 PM Picked up mine on 11/7. :D
mbc2237 12-15-2009, 03:09 PM GRRRRRRRR...EFFIN GRRRRR....Quite frustrating.
FullCircle 12-15-2009, 03:32 PM They arrived at the dealers in this area about two weeks ago within three days they were gone. If one arrives at your dealer better make a deal in a hurry or it will be gone.
mbc2237 12-15-2009, 03:39 PM I have a deposit down already. The only reason financing and what-not wasn't done two months ago was because they have no idea when they are getting them. It's hard to finance something without any info. BUT, I was REALLY hoping it would be an Xmas present to myself. looks like it will be after to the new year for sure. i dont mind waiting on anything if i know a time. waiting without having a time frame stinks for any of us humans. It ESP stinks that there are people in states that already have one in the garage and cant ride until spring, but my state, florida, still hasnt seen them and doesnt know when we will.
The thing that i don't understand is that there is no way for the dealers to find out when they are getting one? and you can't call ANYONE to find out?

Hmm, I'm in FL and picked mine up 12/3. My dealer, Volusia Motorsports, has received and delivered 4 or 5 Cross Countries and has a Cross Roads in stock (at least they did a week ago). I know Gainesville has seen a few as well.
It's really sounding like many dealers didn't commit to bikes at the dealer show so now that they have orders they were put at the bottom of the queue. OR, they have other problems with Victory they aren't telling you about.
Every dealer can look at the projected delivery month of their orders and once the unit is scheduled for production they should see an actual ship date in their system. Once it ships they receive the electronic invoice with the VIN. If your dealer is saying they have no idea I think they are blowing smoke up your ass.
mbc2237 12-17-2009, 04:21 PM Thanks for all the replies everyone. I have found out that it goes on the truck next week. I won't have it till the new year but at least I have a round about time frame now, other than "soon." I was hearing "soon" starting in November.
royal star 12-24-2009, 03:33 PM I live up in the frozen tundra 33 miles from the factory. I have been trying to see a cross roads up close and set on it for a couple months I have been to three differant dealers and have yet to see one. The ones they have are sold and they wont let you near them. I wonder if they are shipping them down south where people can at least ride them. As for delivery all the dealers have told me the same thing, if you order it today they will have it before April.
mbc2237 12-24-2009, 04:22 PM well, i was told the bike was on the truck last sat for delivery...who would have thought it would take 2 1/2 weeks to get here? :(
i should have it jan 5th. fingers crossed. It has only been pushed back 10 times now.
It looks like they def didnt put enough into production.

I understand. Again, I believe that Polaris and Victory should be separated so that Victory can concentrate on MOTORCYCLES! Not, snowmobiles and ATVs! And down here in the south, we don't use snowmobiles; however, a company should take care of their customers. Polaris customer service is a JOKE! They can't answer questions, just take complaints and maybe forward them up the chain. However, you or I will never get the telephone number to the secret bat cave, or be able to take to anyone above the dealership. Which isn't too bad except even the dealerships don't get honest answers. Don't get me started on my order of a tall windshield. Anyway, hang in their. Maybe our new socialist government will take Polaris over anyway.
royal star 12-27-2009, 04:11 PM Went to the forth dealer yesterday and still haven't seen the allusive cross country. We talked to the dealer about it and he said when one comes in the guy who ordered it takes it home. I asked why victory had not put a bike in each dealership that could not be sold and he said they do that with the snowmobiles. then i asked him about the buffeting issues i have been reading about and he come uncorked. he said we need to get our asses off the INTERNET and go ride the bike and see. LOL i told him thats why i was there i want to ride one DUH!!!!!

That's sad but pretty funny. It's like a Abbott and Costello bit.

Mainly because the first run were pre orders. The same thing happened when the Vision came out. After a few months the dealers will start getting their regular supply. Some dealers have them because buyers backed out on the purchase.
royal star 01-24-2010, 03:21 PM I finally found a cross country last week in Omaha.:) I sat on it and fell in love. You just cant see everything in a photo and the one thing that jumped out was how wide the passenger seat is, i think my wife will love it. I could not ride it because two feet of snow but I know I'm going to love it. I bought it and cant wait to get it home, I will have to dig my bike trailer out of a 10 foot drift of snow. seriously thinking of trailering it south so i can ride it. Daytona is only 1500 miles away. Cant wait!!!!!
rockman 01-24-2010, 04:10 PM i too am waiting. i put a dep down in oct.first it was end of nov then end of dec now dealer is just saying dont know. i am planning on shipping my bike to daytona for two weeks end of feb. getting a little worried.still have my hammer but looking forward to the cc.as this is my third vic so i am a loyal customer.
Fire n Ice 01-25-2010, 01:33 PM I heard from our dealer that they were not expecting either X bike until April. Of course, there may not be a lot of riding until then if this friggin' snow doesn't go away!!
diamondrmp 01-25-2010, 01:36 PM Considering how many X bikes are already on the road that sucks for your dealer.
Fire n Ice 01-25-2010, 01:40 PM Well considering that there are no bikes on the road here at all right now....it's probably not too bad. Also the closest dealer is 350 miles to the west, 400 miles to the east and 250 miles to the south so competition is pretty much non-existent. I do know of a couple Harley riders who are chomping at the bit to try one out though. One is even the vice president of a riding club that shall remain nameless. Hopefully there will still be some left by April !

maybe you can post on here where you are located and these fine folks can locate you a dealer that wont bull shit you and get you one NOW. i have a dealer here and thay are not a profesional dealer, i bet you are mad man. hang in there it will be worth it.
royal star 01-25-2010, 06:42 PM The dealer in Omaha had one with the skulls on it for sale as of last friday if any one is close to them.;)
rockman 01-29-2010, 08:36 PM my dealer tells me they started the canadian bikes today as they make american bikes first before they change the line. they also claim it will be here in two weeks :rolleyes:so i can load for daytona (grain of salt)still have hammer for backup but that would really bite:(.
rockman 02-14-2010, 10:39 PM officially told will not be here in time for daytona very close to cancelling deal.
RiverRat 02-15-2010, 08:24 AM I really feel your pain Rockman. I ordered mine the day after the release. I was told 11/11/09 was my delivery date...now several dates later my dealer was told it would be on the next truck from Polaris "if inventory was available". blah blah blah. This will be my third Vic as well...and I think that I have sold my Kingpin.
No riding in my neck of the woods anyway. Just think, a year from now this long wait will be long forgotten and we will be riding one of the best bikes out there.
rockman 02-15-2010, 10:01 AM i guess iam just feeling a little let down as i had this trip to florida planned and was looking forward to the new ride.i love my hammer but it does not suit me on long hauls, packing a load.that being said i did it last time so i can do it again. AND YES I AM TRAILERING it cause theirs three feet of snow and minus 30 here right now
RiverRat 02-15-2010, 10:12 AM I cancelled my trip to bike week too.
Chicago Mark 02-15-2010, 10:44 AM I live outside of Chicago and travel between IL, IN and Mi for work. I wouldn't say Cross Countries and Roads are plentiful but they are certainly available. Have you called places like Smokin' Joes in Michigan, Randy's Cycle in Illinois or Terre Haute Victory in Indiana?
All the best,
Mark
RiverRat 02-15-2010, 10:50 AM I am locked into my dealer because of price. No one would touch the deal that I have on my new bike.
Chicago Mark 02-15-2010, 12:04 PM No bike equals no deal regardless of the price. Is your dealer putting you off because they made a deal for too little in it for them or have they not received anyone's bike yet?
Mark

thanks a BUNCH in advance. Is Randy's your local dealer? nice man. I would deal with him.old post opps
Chicago Mark 02-15-2010, 05:22 PM Not having a "release date" barely made sense back on Dec 2, 2009 when the first post was made in this thread. Today, it's simply inconceivable since there are so many Cross Roads and Cross Counry's available. Has your dealer, (whoever and wherever they are) sold other Cross bikes yet?
Mark
RiverRat 02-16-2010, 10:48 AM Actually Mark, there are a couple of reasons...My dealer takes very good care of me over the years. He sells his bikes and point of sale options to me at cost and I in turn sell a couple of bikes for him a year. Last year I sold 4 Vics for him.
He sold me my new bike and a slue of add ons for cost but it was not put into the system as a pre ordered customer sold bike. It is a listed as a stock floor model for the dealership. So in trade for the price, they have one less required bike to buy from corp. They still have quite a few left overs and they are pushing back their other 2010 bikes. So the only 2010 bike that they want delivered right now is my XC. They have a XR on the floor currently and have not recieved any XCs as of yet. Their new 2010 floor models will ship in March.
If I was in the Chicago area I would certainly do business with Randys. Here in Michigan there are several other dealers that would love my business they are all very pleasant to me. I pay rent monthly at Smokin Joes, I just have not bought my bikes from him. I think that that kinda piszes him off. But my other dealer really has taken very good care of me.
If push comes to shove and I have to go to a different dealer. I do have a lot of choices. But it hasn't gotten to that point yet.
royal star 02-16-2010, 04:20 PM I got a call from a dealer in Ankeny Iowa today. They have a black cross country on the floor for sale as of this afternoon. like i said earlyer i went to 6 dealers looking for the bike and some of them several times. Im glad I did not put money down on the bike before I could lay my hands on it, that dealer still does not have one. and some of the other ones have several? Im taking mine to the painter this weekend I Cant Wait!!!!!
Chicago Mark 02-17-2010, 03:01 AM Thanks for the clarification RiverRat. Now it makes sense. All the best to you.
Mark
gfalconman 04-17-2010, 10:53 AM i ordered my cc on dec. 14 2010 and took del on jan 20 2010 already put 1000 miles on it. bought mine at streetsports cycle in whitelake mi. nice guys he has already sold all he can get and that was 6. but they are out there. good luck on yours
RiverRat 04-17-2010, 12:57 PM I guess that I should update this thread...My bike came in the second week of March and I took delivery of it near the first of the month. I have roughly 2,000 miles on it now. I also have all of my accessories installed now except the passenger back rest and the GPS stuff. My simple review is this bike is fricking awesome. Very Good power with the stage one and as with all Vics...getting stronger by the day. The real surprise, maybe not surprise, is the handling. My Kingpin handles great but OMG with this X bike. Curves where the Pin scrape I go deeper with the X...extermely nuetral in the corner. Just lean and roll on power it doesn't care. There is also no learning curve to this bike. Sit on it and drive it like it has been yours for years. I really don't know what else to say. I love my other two Vics but wow this XC is stupid good.
