Researching for accessories to put on an 8-Ball before I buy.
Which Victory pipes give more HP? Or which aftermarket is better.
Any ideas also on a windscreen?
Factory analog tach or electronic?
Getting my list of options together before I sit down with the salesman.:D

The Vic swept pipes absolutly suck for power. The 2-1 is best followed by the long drag, then Shotgun. Check out RPWUSA.com, or Santarosa V twin for some nice aftermarket stuff

I have the digital. Its great because it displays more than just MPH and RPM.

My results show Bassani is equal to both RPW, and Car Chemistry, but no better of a performer. RPW has a large selection of pipes available for about any configuration. Car Chemistry works great, but tend to be a little on the ugly side

Do these pipes out perform the factory pipes with the airbox mod and mapping.
With the aftermarket pipes you still need to do airbox mods correct?

You don't NEED to do an aftermarket airbox but you won't get the full benefits without it.

You will still need at least a upgraded filter, and vented cover like comes with the S1. My expieriance shows that with a few rare exceptions; the aftermarket pipes outperfom the Vic accessory pipes

Hey Kevin.....keep in mind also that not everyone is looking to jack up their horsepower on their Victory's. I for one am very satisfied with the power and toque already generated on my Jackpot. I don't plan on racing anyone as I am a total cruiser. So in all fairness to the swept pipes...they do still look pretty good and perform as expected.

Just sayin.:D

I bought slipons off of ebay for $199, for my hammer. Great investment, they are not all that loud untill you nail it, they will rattle the windows. For the money, you cant beat them.

Kind of suprises me the aftermarket pipes are more $$$ than the Victory which includes the airbox mods and mapping? (getting a discount on accessories)
May not have quite as much hp, but bumping up throttle response is the main goal.
Don't plan doing any street racing.

UMMMMMMM bumping up throttle response takes more HP, or Torque

You got me! From what I remember seeing the dyno test I have looked at(granted different dynos may give different figures, and who's paying for it.) the stock torque figures were pretty close. HP differences were higher in the aftermarket.
I better check it out again and see what I missed!
Google here we come.

I have trouble reading the digital too. Looks the same. It also does 0-60, 1/4 mile et and mph, speed, tach, gear you are in and a lot more. The only problem I have is can't read the Tachometer while drag racing to tell when to shift. I am thing of either adding a regular tach or put an LED shift indicator that comes on just before the rpm limiter that is now set at 6,400 RPMs. What do you think?

I had the swept pipes added to my 2009 Victory Jackpot Corey Ness edition. Some of us do want to go fast! (want to buy very little used flat black swept pipes - less that 150 miles on them). I now have the 2 into 1 Barsoni short pipes. They look great and produces a lot more horsepower. I added a lot of other performance parts and it was essential not to have pipe that aren't as free flowing as they can be. Very pleased with the upgrade. It is very fast but runs on street gas and can be ridden everyday and taken to the track.

Hey Kevin,

How does the Victory 2-1 pipe compare to the aftermarket pipes like RPW, and Bassani 2-1 in power increase ?, +/- a couple of HP & TQ ?

Thanks

Hey TheX1049, .......why do you have trouble reading the digital tach/speedo?

I know with some they are hard to see with excessive sunlight and/or with sunglasses on.

While on this topic I have a 2007 Vegas, and am interested in the Victory 2-1's Unfortunately I don't see my year listed for fit. Will the 2-1 pipes fit an '07 Vegas??

Thanks

It was only while drag racing. In didgital mode numbers go by too quick. In bar mode not as easy to read when it only takes a couple of seconds to go through each gear and going from 0- close to 120 mph in eleven+ seconds. Other than drag racing it was great. It was also great practicing with 1/4 mile et and speed mode or the 0 - 60 mode.

You are are a wealth of information. I went through Gainesville last week on my way back from the Keys (had a 55 lb Dolphin caught with my grandson). Tried to post picture but forgot how.
By the way I had two flats and a tread and cord compleatly peal off on the third of four trailer tires. Got them all fixed and out Sunday. Would have visited if it was any other day.

If you go on the Lloydz website, there is a comparison of hp/tq for different exhausts with different intakes. According to Lloydz, the S&S intake with various aftermarket pipes, including RPW and Bassani, makes the most power without additional engine work. Check it out!

THAT IS WHY I PICKED BARSSANI. LIKE YOU SAID IT PRODUCED THE MOST MOST POWER W/O OTHER ENGININE WORK. RPW IS GREAT FOR THE STREET BARSSANI I AM TOLD IS STRONGER FOR BIGGER hp. IT IS SORT OF FUN TO LOOK AY ALL OF THE DIFFERENT DYNO GRAPHS FOR DIFFERENT MODELS WITH DIFFERENT UPGRADES AT lloydz.com/dyno.asp
I guess mine is closest to Llloydz 114 CI.

It's a blast to feel to torque. I am going to be very conservative before I go racing again. Went too fast too early too often. I made too many 1/4 mile passes I think w/o letting the engine cool down. I was at an airport with o/k to run as often as I liked unless the tower radioed me that a plane was coming in. The digital tach has 1/4 mile et and mph. I know now to let the engine cool down a little. It only cost $280 to releave the cylinder and a new ring. It was a blast though. Got better et's and more mph each run. Practice, practice, practice

Hey...New at this forum stuff...I have a question that I can not find in any of my searches... I'm looking at a set of stage 1 Victory Drag Pipes on eBay, Victory part # 2875667...I would like to install them myself to save some cash but I've heard...not from a reliable source, that when installing a pipe that the rear tire needs to be removed...? Is that true, or is it simply unbolt and bolt back on minus the remapping?
My second question...Is a set of Stage 1 Drag pipes loud...I have the stock pipes and they sound like a sewing machine!! Heard that those pipes are ridiculously loud? Just looking for confirmation that I'm getting some sound...
Thanks
Ryan

Yes, drag pipes are loud...But loud is not always a good thing...Your local LEO may give you more attention than you really want....here the fine for "excessive" loud pipes runs $250.....:crzy:

Well....I don't know what pipes you are putting on....But, For the life of me I can't see why you would have to remove the rear wheel......But then again according to the service manual you have to pull the engine to replace the airbox.......LOL

I apologize I don't know how I missed this. I don't remember if you PMed me about these but they are the Santa Rosa Vee Twin Edge bars.

You can also find a variant of this bar on Kewlmetal except it has the speedo bucket mounted to the bars.
