I have a 2007 vegas premium that I bought last fall and I love it. I just found a great deal on a 2009 kingpin that is hard to pass up. The kingpin already has the medium windshield and back rest. I'm thinking if I throw a set of saddlebags on the kingpin it would be more practical for long trips than the vegas. I like the looks of the kingpins with the winshields and bags. Are the 2 bikes pretty much the same other than the fenders and front wheel and tire size? Do they ride and handle the same? Are there any problems with the 2009 model year that I should be aware of?

I would stay with the 07. It has the open loop system and takes to modifications better.

ill go along with diamond, if you intend to modify the engine, at least at this time, ....the front end on the king is imo nice, and floor boards, if you have ridden a bike with floorbords, you are in for a treat, i understand the vegas will accept the same floorboards as the king, also the front end assy. both bikes are essentially the same. some body chime in here if im wrong.

The Kingpin and Vegas are the same bikes aside from the inverted forks that the KP has. The rest is just cosmetic. Wheels, front and rear fender, floor boards etc...

I should have been more clear in my last post. I'm thinking of buying the kingpin and keeping my vegas. That way I could mount some bags on the kingpin and use it for long trips and keep the vegas for shorter cruises and local bike nights and such. I don't want two bikes that are too much alike that's why I was questioning the differences. I like what I've seen of the Crossroads but from what I see they only come in 2 colors and I haven't seen a lot of reviews on them yet. Plus they aren't offering the deals on the crossroads like they are on the 2009 kingpins. Maybe I should wait a few months and see how the crossroad does in its first year of production?

your comparing apples and oranges, the jackpot has the w i d e
rear tire and rides nothing like a vegas or vegas low or kingpin, the kingpin imo handles better than the vegas, reason : wide front tire and up-side down forks, the floorbords also give a super feel.

I like the front fenders on the Kingpin but not the back. From what I read the front fender could fit on a Vegas? I have an 07.

According to KBB, NADA and other sources if you have a Vegas (Premium) you actually have a Jackpot. Jackpot is considered a Vegas Premium.
