I ran into a problem with mine not getting a good ground.

Yes, there is a fuse - the only time you would not have a fuse between a power source and a light bulb is if someone modifed the the wiring system.

What is the year/model of your bike?

Have you checked the bulb? I burned mine out in about 6k miles on my Jackpot. Its an easy fix, and bulb costs less than $3 at any dealership.
