Well I got my new Vision today. The dealewr was not very friendly though.

We were out on a test ride and i tlod the guy I was gonna see if would roast the tires. He said oh it will but that didnt mean i wasnt gonna check for myself. So when we got out to the light I checked the front brake and hit it! It do ok and filled the intersection with smoke but my escort got all uptight about it. Whatever.

Than when we got back to the shop there was some guy oustside ranting and raving before i could even shut the bike off. Called me an idiot and bunch of other stuff. Said I bought the bike I just didnt know it yet. I told him fine I want the bike. Very uptight guy.

So when i left just to make them mad i brake checked right on theyre patio slab where they had my bike waiting. Than i tried to pop a wheelie but it wouldnt do it.Whatever thats what they get.

Than to top it off when i get home theres a message on my machine to call them. So i did it was that same guy saying dont bother to bring it in for anything that my warranty was void. He said thats no way to break a bike in. I told him well if it cant do that than i dont want it. So fine I'll find another dealer it dont matter they were not nice anyhow.

The reason that he called you an idoit is because you obviously are. You don't do that crap to someone else's bike. Even if you intended to buy it. I would have not sold the bike to you and had you arrested for vandelism. If he has voided your warrenty because of reckless care it won't matter what dealer you take it to. Victory will decline your future claims world wide.

The more I think about it...The more I am sure that your story is completely made up. I call Bull Sh*t!

Hey whats your problem? Doing burnouts wont hurt a Victory they are well built and very strong.

They cant just void my warranty at other stores theres no way. Plus the only reason i am doing burnouts is because i dont need this tire I want a bigger back tire. They said they were gonna order me one but that guy was being rude and kept coming in the office so everybody foregot to order it.

I probably wont do as many burnouts on my new tire.

I have never heard of anyone putting a bigger tire on a Vision...hmmm interesting. And yeah a Dealer can alert Corperate as to abuse done to a bike...happens all the time. And abuse is the #1 cause of warranty declines next to experation. Victory is a realitively small company and the riders get a real good chance to meet many dealers and actually corperate Vic people. We are pretty hooked up as far as that goes.

They said arlen ness makes a big tire kit and they would put it on for me.

Doing burnouts is not abuse. Its not like i was gonna blow up the engine i shift gears when i do burnouts its no big deal.

Southern California. There are a couple of good dealers down there and you can take a road trip up here to Northern Cali and go to Ness'.

I was going to call you an idiot too. I thought you were test riding a bike you had not bought.

The drive train being able to handle the burnout is not the issue. The issue is the burnout puts unneccesary wear on a tire that another person is going to buy.

Since its your bike....drive the way you want it.

There was a story on another site talking about a guy that is friends with a dealer. He takes out one of their Jackpots with a passenger and does wheelies!!! Now THAT is a frickin idiot. Not just the customer but the dealer for allowing it. They said he regularly does that!!!!

NZvictory

...Burnouts do cause problems mate engines workin hard heaps of heat and NO air flow as you aren't moving so over heats motor, trans , drive train etc.
Saying that its your bike and you paid them so good on ya ...I like to watch others do it so i don have to wreck mine!!
to me there is sence in what they said BUT they could have said it quietly , carmly , with reasoning and a little humour and you proably would have waited till you were out of site so as to not piss them off and lose the warrenty.
I hear ya River rat but we are all different....would be god dam boring if we ALL rode the same color Road king wore the same color jackets and drove white four doors !!! Some guys just love that shit ...and should be allowed to as long as they can do the time for the crime eg No warrenty , broken bikes , shit cornering and big tyre bills ...not to mention a good size fine if bustard by the OFFICER OF THE LAW type person!....and even if he is tellin a porky...so what gives us something to knock the top off a cold one , read and rant about !!!:p

Just did an LSAT (Linguistic Statement Analysis) on RR's story and it failed miserably.

RR-I'm pretty sure I know how you will respond to this but...what if you were selling something you were not sure the person interested in it was going to buy. Would you let them abuse it? I understand letting them put it through it's paces, within limits, but to let them do something to your property that it was never designed to do would be taking an aweful risk to the property and the liability.
If you came to buy a vehicle from me and asked to do that, and I told you not to, I would expect you to honor that request. If you did not I would take you for a nice long ride somewhere...and leave you there.

We do care that our Customer's have a great experiance here, from buying a bike to service and part's or stopping by to get a cup of coffee and using the facility's. Grasshopper,
You are way to uptight man,,,,,,, relax a little. Anybody w/ a grain of brain knew i was full of shit.

I own 2 Harley's and they aint Sportsters. I am diehard Harley my friend. I was simply pulling one on the Vic boys,, thats all. When confronted on which dealer i simply googled a s.cal dealer where weather would permit actually riding a bike rightnow and came up w/ Chris's shop. I have nothing against Chris and i have not degraded this shop in anyway whatsoever. Everything I stated appeared to make me look like the idiot not the shop,,, so hold back your tears for SCT or whatever theyre name is. Besides anybody that can sell a vision (burgman/goldwing mutt) is a bigger man than me. I couldnt even keep a straight face trying to sell one.

Cut me a little slack man,, I'm snowed in!

I agree with Rifraff there is nothing wrong with letting that back tire spin its all in fun and if they think they can void your warranty for it you are wrong. And my dealer even told me to break my bike in just like i was going to ride it, even if you ride hard, not to be easy on it cause it can take it.

Since I just joined and the Harley guy thought it was funny to bust on Vic owners......Here is my story. A few years ago I went to buy my first road bike. I raced motocross years ago and never did the road bike thing because my Dad told me I was out of the house if I got a road bike (claimed too many of his friends lost legs and lives on them) I road a Vegas and I thought it was awesome (first road bike in about 20 years) Great pulling power. Very smooth but strong and great suspension and ride. I then drove about 5 miles up the road to the big mega Harley shop and test road what the salesman said was comparable. I went about a mile up the road and turned around. It was not as strong as the Vegas. The suspension was weak and it vibrated ( I know that's supposed to be cool and badass)

The guy asked me what I thought. I said "you want the truth?" He said sure. I told him it was pretty lame and that it felt like it had a cracked motor mount or frame tube with all the vibration. He told me some crap about how that's the Harley mystique etc.......lol When I told him the Vegas was much better he laughed and said that was a wanna be Harley and that in 3 years it wouldn't be worth sheeit resale wise. Since he was being kind of a tool, I reminded him that I could go on CL and find used Sporty's for under 5k all day long. He then told me to try a Road King and I said no thanks and left. Is that pretty funny to you Harley dude?

This is just my opinion but I think that HD is going to start loosing a lot more market share if they don't change their "Heritage, Mystique" mindset.

if you subscribe to Motorcycle Consumer News, there is an excellent
article that deals with the changing marketplace, as in everything else you stay competitive or you fall behind, England used to rule the motorcycle scene, then they fell behind, likewise harley has gone into " survival mode" [ Fred Rau's words ] selling off assets, closing plants, discontinuing Buell, laying off workers and desperately trying to slow a downhill slide that is accelerating out of control. H-D lost $56 million last yr. on a 28% decline in sales, which sounds bad enough, but in just the last fiscal quarter reported, that had increased to a 53% drop in sales and loss of $220 million. In other words, going by the latest figure, H-D is currently losing $2.4 million per day.

and the latest Victory news, Polaris Acquires Swissauto Engine Design & Manufacturing Firm

That loss was for the last quarter of last year, the first in over 20 years. The one time restructuring costs that are spread out over some of last year, all this year and some of next year will keep the profits down until paid off. Competitors sales were off more than HDs were last year and HD still maintains a larger market share (50%+) than they did before the economy went sour. No manufacturer is experiencing good sales now, just look at all the left over models, HD still has 2009's ,how bout the others? some 2008's still around?
