According to the only Victory dealer around, you need "special tools" in order to perform warranty repair work on the Victory bikes. What are these special tools?

kevin will tell you for sure but i would say that you have to be Vic trained and probably the vic computer but i did here something about every dealership needing a "minimum tool set" so i'm kinda interested myself

i suspect its like an automotive dealership, you can buy all the tools in the world, but without the " factory " training and dealership license agreement you would not be able to do warranty work, regardless of how accurate the work was. as stated kevin will chime in here and set the record straight. as far as special tools go, all mechanical engines, trans and so forth require special tools to some degree, in some cases snap-on or mac, or other quality tool mfg. make tools that are better than factory tools, and alot of mechanics modify or outright make a tool to do a specific job .

You can do all the work you want on your own bike, but Vic is not going to supply you with parts, or pay you for labor.

That does NOT mean that you must have a dealer SERVICE your bike

I'm not working on anything right now. I'm trying to decide if a Victory is the right bike for me.

I like the way the bikes look but the nearest dealer is 250 miles away. I'm not even sure what these "special tools" are. I just know that there is only one dealer in the province with them. If something goes wrong and it requires a "special tool" to fix, I could be without my bike for a while.

While the bikes are very reliable. Things do break on anything. Most of the tools can be created by a person with a little know how.
