Welcome imkman!

That's quite a collection and no, you don't have to "convert" completely. Personally I love Ducati too!

As for Sturgis...I'm not sure TBH. Perhaps one of our other members can chime in on that question...IMHO - it's always a go:).

I hope to get more input on the Victory bikes, technical info. such as ,types of oils others are using, tune-up tips for better mpg, etc.

I'm fairly new to Victory bikes myself. Having owned a Harley, Buell and several rice burners I guess you could say I like them all. I just purchased a 2005 Victory TC (2900 mi.) from the dealership I work at. The bike seems pretty simple to work on and oil changes are a snap to do. One filter, six qts. of oil and your on your way.
I've been watching the number of bikes that come into our service dept. and so far all I'm seeing is things like oil changes, tire changes and FI remaps for pipes. I'm not saying that nothing could possibly go wrong with these bikes, however, I am a firm believer that if you take care of your machine it'll treat you right.
Another thing to consider is that I sell these bikes for a living. I don't think I would be making a good impression if I rode anything other than a Victory. Sisko

Thanks for the reply Siskokid. I'm glad to hear that the Victory's are reliable. I see them out on the road more and more. When I was gassing up a while back the guy at the next pump had a black Hammer with Street Sweeper pipes....looked and sounded good! Ride safe and GOD bless. Sincerely: Shovelmike.

Good Evening My name is Doug Oliver. I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the little town of Quinnesec. I am 54 going on 25.
I have owned several bikes in the past. A triumph 650 Bonnevlle, a few hondas, a 750 kawasaki, a 1100xs yamaha (3 times), and a 1999 victory V92c. I presently own the yamaha again

I bought a 1999 V92c in 2002. In 2007 I missed a curve and had to start looking for a new ride. I found it this spring. A 2008 Kingpin Touring.

The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is a great place to ride. There is a little bit of everything to see. Fall is especially nice when the autumn colors are out.

In 2005 I lost my 5 year old Grandaughter to spinal meninghitis. She was just starting to ride with me and was already a dedicated Victory nut. Angel wings and Her name graced the front fender of my 99 and are now on the windshield of the new bike.

Thanks Doug. I have read some really good touring articles about your area. I hope to get up there some day.
I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of your granddaughter. I can relate to some degree. I have 3 beautiful grandchildren, the eldest is 6. Her name is Sky. She has very bad Cerebral Palsy. She can't walk, talk, or feed herself. What she can do is laugh and smile...and OH what a smile. It is a real miracle from GOD that she is alive today. From time to time she gets dangerously dehydrated and we come close to losing her. Sometimes it seems as if medical personnel regard her as less worth saving because of her handicaps. Just when you think that you have seen so much in life that nothing can get to you circumstances with these little ones can truly bring you to your knees.
Ride safe and GOD bless. Sincerely: Shovelmike.

Hello,

I'm Peter Boekweg from the Northern part of The Netherlands. I am 45 years old and own a 1991 Norton F1 Sport (rotary engine). It's the street version of the 1992 Isle of Man TT winner. Nice bike to have. Looking for a second bike, which should be a custom cruiser I found the Victory Hammer. What an impressive bike!! Unfortunately Victory Motorcycles are not available here:mad:, but I'm trying to get a Hammer from England end of this year. With some effort I can make it into spring 2009. That Hammer is a true musclebike......

Looking forward to meet other Victory enthusiasts!!

shovelmike
06-18-2008, 07:12 PM
Thanks. That rotary sounds like a very nice bike. Rotarys didn't achieve quite as much popularity on this side of the pond. The only Norton I dealt with was a 850 Commando on which I replaced a head gasket for a co-worker.
Yes, I do believe the Hammer would be a fine addition to your garage.

Hi all, I`m Sean in Phoenix Az. 44, I have an 04 Vegas, black with a chrome virus, it keeps popping up all over ! It does go well with black.:D
Been riding about 30 yrs. I have have owned about 7 bikes ranging from the Kaw. H series to hard tail Harley choppers, & a Fatboy.. By far this Victory is my favorite ! The only time I have had it in the shop is for tires, brake pads, oil changes or to add more Leds. It`s an awesome cruiser that is great out on the road or around town.

My Name is Wayne my bros call be bigfoot because I'm 6'7" and wear a 16 boot. I have had to many bikes to count mostly harleys. Had some finicial trouble and the bikes had to go, I bought a 1980 CB750 this spring just to get back in the wind and recently came across a great deal on a 1999 numbered victory, problem is that it went through a garage fire (thus the great deal). I have it striped to the motor and have been looking for reasonably priced parts to put her back together. hope some of your members can help!
God bless,

Hello Wayne:
Yeah, I can see how the Bigfoot name would stick alright, I have a nephew down in South Carolina who is about your size.
I'm glad your finances allowed you to get back to riding. Good for you for finding the deal on the fire damaged Victory. It will be a challenge finding all the bits and pieces to rebuild it but I have a good idea that you are up to the task. This is a great opportunity to create a bike that is uniquely yours. One of the biggest factors will be the wiring system. If you can't find a wiring loom at a fair price you may need to build it yourself. Hopefully you have a good shop manual; study it, take your time, and work it all out. In the end you will have a bike you can be very proud of. Ride safe and GOD bless.
Sincerely: Shovelmike

Hi, my name is John. After much research, I recently bought an '08 Vegas and am very happy with it. I try to get out on it whenever I can get free time away from work and the family. I am a converted, former HD owner and so far have been very impressed with the handling and ride quality of my Victory. If it turns out to be as reliable as I've heard and Victory can grow a bit more and build a few more dealers, I would have no problem getting a Victory bagger when I grow up. I am nearing the end of my engine break-in period and have a couple of questions.
1) What is a fair price to have a dealer perform the 500 mile service? (I'm a DIYer, but feel the dealer should do this 1st service).
2) What is a fair price to have the Stage 1 slip-ons and re-map done at a dealer? (I can't wait to have this done! I need my sound!)
I'd greatly appreciate any info. on this. Thanks and nice to meet you all.

Hey guys, My name is Skip. I live in Houston in the great state of Texas. I'm 31 and I was lucky enough to be able to get a 08 Hammer just a couple of weeks ago (God I love my wife:D). I am about to get my first service done on Wednesday so I can take some real rides. I have owned only a Kawasaki ZX6R before this that was unfortunately totaled by a Jaguar. I can't wait to start customizing my bike. First thing first, it will be dropped 1" in the back on Wednesday and then hopefully I'll be able to get my led signal lights as well. Ride safe everyone!

Hello John:
I'm glad you are happy with your Vegas. I can't help much establishing a fair price for 500 mile service since I am currently on a H-D and don't know what the service includes. See if they offer a prepaid maintenance plan, it saved me quite a bit.
I agree that it would be good to see more Victory dealers before going for a bagger, although I still haven't adjusted to the non-conventional styling of the Vision.
And hello to you, Skip. I'm glad you came through the crash OK even though your bike didn't. It sounds like you have some good plans for the bike.
Ride safe and God bless. Sincerely: Shovelmike.

Thanks for the reply ShovelMike, My harleys were all shovels and one pan, oh ya and a 77 sporty that started it all. Funny mental picture (Me on a sportster) HA HA. I've done most of my own maintance and this victory has some nice design features. A few more nuts and bolts then a Harley but a real common sence design, I like it. I wish it was carburated then I could just junk all this electronic junk and make it run if life were that easy........

newbie here! The name is Luke. I am looking to buy a Victory Vegas. Not sure yet if it will be the 8 ball or Jackpot. I hope to get a lot of good information from you all.

I currently ride a 2004 V-Rod and want to get more of a cruiser. I've looked at a few Harley's but I just can't justify the cost and what I would be giving up in performance (compared to the V-Rod.)

Anyways, just wanted to say hello. Talk to you all soon!

Hello everyone. My name is Austin, and I am 30 yrs old. I have been a motorcycle addict since 8 yrs old when I first learned to ride on my uncle's old shovel. I currently have a 1999 Victory V92C which is fairly stock as performance goes, but a few nice add-ons. I also ride a 2001 Moto Guzzi V11 LeMans that I love just for the cool factor. Not only is it fast, but I always feel a little like James Bond when I ride it. Anyway, I love to ride and tinker in the garage, but unfortunately I don't have much of the know how. I hope to learn from some of the more seasoned "gear-heads" who may shed some light on how- to's and allow me to spend some fun hours in my garage with my bikes. Glad to meet you all, and ride safe!

Well.....It finally happened. I now own a new Vegas 8-ball.

Name is Chris and currently live in Cumming, GA. This is my first street bike (always owned and raced motocross bikes) but very happy with the bike I decided to start out with.

Searched for a long time but finally found the right bike at the right price at Big Bikes in Jacksonville, FL. Rode that bad boy all the way home (6 hours) while still adhering to proper break in procedures. Bike ran great, handled great, was a blast to ride....but think I'll trailer it next time there's a tropical storm. Driving in the monsoon got a little old after a while.

Current Mods:
Black Jackpot Headlight (what a difference)
Stage 1 kit
Swept pipes

Future mods:
Rear license plate delete kit, swingarm mount
Smoked rear turn-signal kit
Black drag bars
Smoked front side lights
Mustang driver and passenger seat

Look forward to being pretty active in the site and learning/contributing. Hopefully some of you are in the Southeast region, it would be nice to meet some now fellow Victory riders!

Take care

--Chris

Hey All,
I became a memeber of this site back at the end of may when I found 1999 victory that had gone through a garage fire. It was pretty toasted. I finally, after alot of work, heard it run last week!!
I almost have enough parts to road test it soon. :) Then it's back on the bench for the long winter of customizing. By spring the 1999 victory number 657 will be back on the road.
God Bless

Hello,
For those who haven't read my last posts, I bougt a 1999 v92c that went through a garage fire. I have sence stripped it to the frame and bassically gone through everything outside the engine. I fired it for the first time about a month ago and last week was able to reach my last pre winter goal of riding it about 2 miles. She is pretty ugly yet as there are no lights or sheet metal (except the tank) on her but happy to report that it went through all the gears and seemed to run fine.
Hey Corey... Glad to see someone else who likes the blacked out look, I've never been one for alot of chrome and never had a peice of arlen billet on one of my bikes! To each his own, make the bike yours.

11-09-2008, 06:12 PM
Havn't introduced myself yet. Go by Blatzman because of a Blatz beer tattoo that I have and it makes people wonder why Blatz? I'm 45 years old and live in the Cleveland OH area. I've been riding off and on since I was 18 and have only owned Harley FL models ranging from panheads and shovels up to twin cam 88's. I think the main reason I am on a Victory and not a H-D anymore is the feeling that H-D went into popping that bar and shield on too many things and didn't care if they sold another mororcycle or not. I also was running out of people that owned H-D's and ''rode'' them. I was even called a cheapskate by a dealer for not adding after market exhausts and other add on's by a dealer and when I had mechanical issues with a 5 month old dresser that had > 6000 miles they asked why I rode it so much. So now I hope to have years of trouble free riding without any attitude and run into other folks that go riding beyond bike night at the local wings and beer joint.

Aloha to all...new guy here living in Hawaii. Not many Victory riders here and no dealers. That didn't stop me from bying a new 2007 Victory Vegas Premium last july, deliverd to my door from Arizona Victory Dealer. Love this bike and use it ever day to work. I also own a 04 HD custom Road King Classic. I been riding for 40 years now, originally from Connecticut I did lots of rides to NY,Main,VT,NH and an east to west cost Jaunt. A couple of week ago I did the toy for tots parade in Honolulu. I walked around to see if any other Vic rides where there. didn't see any out of over 4000 bikes hard to find in a sea of bikes. My Vegas got a lot of attention.

any other Victory riders in Hawaii drop me a line maybe we can do a victory ride around the island...

Hello all,
Good to see new names every time I log in here. The handle is Bigfoot and in case you haven't read my previous posts, I bought a 1999 v92 # 657 that went through a garage fire. I have since torn it down to the motor sanblasted everything, built a new harness, painted and modified the bike in a few ways. It is almost done! I figure about two weeks. I will try to post pictures (not sure how on this site) when it is finally done. It has had parts donated from a goldwing, vulcan, motortrike, Harley, Yamaha outboard, and a Dodge Dakota to mention a few. I managed to keep the whole project under $1,500 including purchase price. I really like working on this victory, it has been a blast. A great way to spend the long winters in minnesota!

OK I have been trying to down load a work in progress picture of the bike and just can't get it to work.... not very good at this stuff!

Not sure I wanted to introduce myself before I took possesion of my new Vegas but I guess even if I dont become a Vic rider within the next week I'm still a rider and we are all linked in that way.
Some of my friends call me Bdiddy, but my mom calls me Brandon.
I'm 34, live in Vancouver Washington, but consider myself an Oregonian. I just recently moved across the river to the Evergreen state.
I currently ride an 04 Suzuki Volusia (Boulevard C90) but made a deposit on an 08 Vegas 8 Ball with stage 1 swoops recently and will be picking it up on 3/1 if the weather cooperates.
So far I have enjoyed browsing through the posts and reading what everyone has to say. There seem to be a lot of good folks in this forum. It's nice to meet all of you.
Keep the shiny side up and always give you're fellow biker the highway handshake.

Hello

My name is Randy. I'm from South Central PA. I got a Black Cherry Vegas Low Aug. 08. Though I only have about 1000 mi. on it because I'm a fair weather rider. I love it. I haven't ridden in more than 20 yrs. but it all came back to me. I'm 42, 5'8" and my wife loves it too. so we might be adding another one. She loves the Low so maybe I'll give her the Low and get a Jackpot. I just love it.

Hello all, I'm in the Air Force stationed in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Not currently a Vic owner but hope to be by mid summer. I really dig the Jackpot in Sunset Red but I'd definitely need to add some personal graphics, something similar to the 08 Jackpot in SR.

If anyone knows of reputable dealers in Colorado or Wyoming please let me know. Thanks!

I'm new to the victory forum. I've had an 06 victory vegas for the last 3 years, and after owning quite a few other bikes by different manufacturers, I think Victory is the best on the cruiser market. I live in an awesome area for riding, southwest Virginia, upper east Tennessee. I live close to the Snake if anyone has ever heard of it, and I'm not that far from the Tail of the Dragon in the Smoky Mountains. I look forward to talking with other Victory riders, since my area is infested with the older american brand.

Hi everyone, my name's Chris, I'm 51 and I live in Wales, UK with my partner and 2 daughters (8 & 4).
I've had a few bikes, mostly sport tourer types over the past 20 odd years, but last year I treated myself to a Vision Tour and I LOVE it (so does the boss - she likes the armchair on the back:D)
My other current bike is a Kawasaki GT550 shaft driven four cylinder plodder, which is awaiting a refurb and off road at present.

I'm 62 and live in Springfield Illinois with my wife Kathy
We both ride she a 02 Honda Spirit 600 me a 06 Victory Vegas 8 Ball.
We are cruisers, but have done a little dirt riding when I was young.
We do most our riding together usually day trips as Kathy does not like long trips. My frinds a I take a 10 day trip every year somewhere.
I've owned a few bike and the Victory is the best has all the power and handles really well. Someday we,ll probably will buy a trike of some sort as age creeps on us.

05-12-2009, 03:27 AM
 My name is Pete. I have been an enthusiast for a long time. I purchased a brand new Corey Ness Jackpot last week. I sold my last bike which was a custom Bourget last year and I was without a ride for the first time in 20 years. I got caught up in the custom thing in 2004. I have owned a Harley Wide Glide, the Bourget and now the Jackpot since the turn of the century. I love motorcycles as an art form as much as anything else.
I had seen some Victory's on the road and I really liked the look. I visited the Victory dealer not far from here maybe a dozen times in the past year. I was intrigued by the new vision and this years Ness Vision in particular. I read all the reviews and even after all the years of riding I couldn't decide whether I would enjoy a bagger as much as I did a cruiser. I even considered a trike as I am older now and the weight of a bagger is something I considered. I had no problem handling the vision or the Harley Street Glide I was interested in. The one thing was when I had to stop on a sharp incline which happens from time to time. I just couldn't get comfortable with 900 lbs to deal with in certain situations. The Ness Jackpot both Arlen and Cory just caught my eye and I kept coming back to the Cory design. I love the color purple and that is the basic color of this bike. It had the look of a true custom and I suppose that having owned one that did matter to me. This bike is a limited edition so,it is the closet thing to custom that is not one off. The price was an issue even though it was origionally a little less than half of what I had put into the Bourget. I visited this bike many times over the course of a year and in this economy I just couldn't pull the trigger.
Two weeks ago I went down there and "my" bike still had not been sold. The dealer ade me an offer I could no longer refuse. I was able to purchase this machine with 4.99% financing for a 25% discount from the origional m.s.r.p. I upgraded the pipes added an s+s air filter(adds about 5 hp) and that was it. I expet to hae it in a few days. I am really excited. This is a beautiful machine and it sounds and rides great. It is almost one off and it gets me excited every time I look at it. It can go and it is unique.
The thing is,that most of the people I know in the industry all seem to hae a few similar traits. They march to their own drummer, they have some rebel in them and they like to be different than the masses. I think Harley is an American icon. I think they make a nice bike. Lord knows there are a lot of Harley's on the road. Victory is unique. They make a kick ass motorcycle which is mechanically superior to any production bike I have seen or ridden. I really like the look and it is American made. Yeah, that matters to me. I feel born again now that I have a ride. I didn't realize how connected I was to it until I was without. In the end,I was able to buy a motorcycle that I could afford at a great price. It makes me feel good and that's what life is all about. They even threw in a 5 year warranty at no cost with no mileage limit. I mean it was like someone tapping me on the shoulder and saying"do it man,you only live once"
I did it and I feel like a kid.I can't wait to take him out and feel the wind in my face. I am grateful for my good fortune. I will give you my review once I ride him for awhile. His name is Archie 3.

Hiya Kids, I'm Unc. Been riding for 47 years now and have had 19 different bikes over the years. Looked at the Victory when they first came out in 99 and really liked the looks. I had a 99 Suzuki LC1500 that I really loved. Unfortunately a young lady didnt care to share the road ( she was hidden behind another car and we didnt see each other) She pulled out smack dab infront of me and as you all know, at 45MPH you dont stop a 700 lb. machine in 40 feet.Totaled the scoot and thankfully only broke a rib and my left leg. Started to look again and as soon as Ins. decides to pay me I'm gonna be a "Vegas" owner. At 62 I'm not old enough for an "old mans" bike yet LOL. Hope to have many more miles of good scooting left. Ya'll take care and keep the shiny side up.

Hi Scott,
I am no expert, but to personalize my bike i plan to look at other bikes to see what looks good and look at the victory accessory catalog to see which accessories work for me.

Perhaps others have better ideas and will reply.

Good luck and have fun personalizing your bike!

Hello all. I purchased my first road bike of my adult life this spring. I had been looking at Harley or Victory and found a great deal on a new 2008 Victory Hammer S. That works out good as my dad is a Polaris Dealer and would have rode my butt for ever if I would have ended up with a Harley.

I rode a Honda V65 Magna as a kid in school but sold it when I got married and have not had a street bike in about 20 years. I have two boys both out of the house now but one raced motocross and the other ATV's for a number of years. We are all still very active in off road motorsports but at a much lower key now that the boys are on their own (kinda).

Looking forward to putting more miles on the Hammer and making a few additions and changes as time and money allow. I also hope to be chiming in here every now and then as I have something worthwhile to add.

Hello all, I am 51 and live in East Texas. I now own my first Victory, a 2000 Sport Cruiser (traded a boat for it)

I've been around and owned bikes off and on all my life (my dad used to put me on the back and one of my sisters on the tank and take us riding) LOL

I have owned 3 Hondas, 2 Kawasakis, 3 Yamahas, and now 1 Victory.

Current bikes are 1996 Yamaha virago 535 (actually my wife's bike) and the 2000 Victory Sport Cruiser (although I don't know just how long I'll keep the Victory, it's off to a bad start)

I guess I'd have to say my dream bike would be a Harley Dyna Low Rider or Wide Glide, or an 09 Kawasaki vulcan 2000 classic lt( drooling)

I joined the forum to find out if anyone can give me ideas on customization for the Sport Cruiser. My dislikes of it (other than no chrome) are the foot controls and the flat bars, I would prefer a more pull back style.

My name is Adam and I am 58 years old and have ridden motorcycles most of my life up until kids came into the picture 15 years ago. I have been in the hunt for a new bike and have come to the conclusion that once again a tourer was in my picture. I was considering the Harley Electra Glide Ultra and the Triumph Rocket 3 Touring which are both fine bikes. However, last weekend the Victory truck came to a locala dealer and I had the opportunity to ride all the bikes that they had to offer. Man it was fun. I wallked away knowing that a 2010 White Victory Vision Tour ws in my future and I have ordered it. I will report in with more datta after I recieve and have put it through its paces. If it behaves like the demo I think it is the finest tourere on the road today. I have owned 9 bikes in my life and this one is by far the finest.

My other bike is a '99 Kawaski Concours, such a great bike for those that like to do there own maintanence. And the mainanence manual is only 16 dollars. Ha. Hopefully the new Vision will prove to be another good pick for me. I love working on my own motorcycles and cars. My first long ride will be to the Blue Ridge Parkway. I'd like to get the first 500 on her and do the oil change before I go. Anyone in the Charlotte, NC area please hit me up for a ride.

New to this particular forum. Name is Ron. Living on the Left Coast near wine country. Just turned 50. Have owned several Harleys. Currently have a Road King. Now on my second Vic. 09 Kingpin 8 Ball. Blacked out lots of stuff including the Stage 1 slip on exhaust.
Can't believe the torque of the Vic engine right off the showroom floor. A real kick to ride.
Favorite ride has to be southern Utah. Can't get enough of the canyons, rocks and state parks. Close second would be Montana and western Wyoming.

I visited the Scottish bike show at the weekend and was pleased to see Victory there for the first time. I have always admired them from afar but never seen one in the flesh. Scotland is to get its first dealer and its only 30 miles from me thumb up

I was very taken with the Victory Vegas 8 ball and I'm due to change one of my bikes at the end of the year. So I'm here to learn a little more and to work out whether the big V is for me

03-28-2010, 10:22 AM
Hi all, I'm Sid. I'm 51 and have been riding for 4 years down here in South Carolina. I started out on an '05 VStar 1100 Custom after taking the MSF beginner's course and racked up about 20k miles on her over the next two years. About that time though, my wife was ready to trade in her Suzuki M50. The only thing that had enough style for her was an '08 Vegas Low. Well... I couldn't keep up with her on the Yami, so I "had" to go out and get a Vegas myself. The folks at Cherokee Trikes gave me a great deal as well as fitting the '07 with some sweet Stage 1 drag pipes. Unfortunately, our love affaire with these wonderful machines was cut short by an accident on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the spring of '08 where another biker coming in the opposite direction lost control, crossed the center line, and took us BOTH out! Our injuries weren't life threatening, but the bikes were sufficiently bent (and practically new) so we worked with the insurance company to get them replaced. Now we both ride '08s, her's a Low and mine a regular Vegas. We're out all year 'round, mostly in the Piedmont area of SC and the mountians of Western NC. Hope to see ya out there!

My name is Andy from SD. I'm 22 years old and now own my 3rd motorcycle, an '04 Vegas. The other two are an '83 Shadow 750 and an '02 Shadow Spirit 750, both good starter bikes but needed something a little bigger. I still own both of those bikes as well.

My decision came down to a '92 HD custom softail (beautiful bike) and the vegas and I couldn't take my eyes off the victory so thats what I got.

Currently on a hiatus spending every dollar I own on accessories for the new toy! :)

Hi folks, just a quick introduction. My name is Bill, but I go by Sundog. I'm 51, live in Halifax, Nova Scotia on the east coast of Canada and am the proud owner of a new 2010 Crossroads. I work as a probation officer and social worker and riding is a great stress reliever. I've only been riding a few years, but better late than never! I picked my bike up 2 weeks ago and due to the fantastic spring we've had in these parts, I'm getting her broken in. I must say I'm loving the bike, especially 2 up on the highway!! She really scoots. My only gripe is how quiet it is, even with a stage 1 exhaust. My former bike was a suzuki crusier, and although smaller in displacement, she had Vance and Hines pipes, so I never heard that sewing machine sound of the engine. I'm assuming all that ticking on acceleration is normal? I was formerly a member of a Suzuki forum and the advice and information you get though this means of communication is invaluable, especially where there are not alot of Victory dealerships in this area. I look forward to meeting and chatting with fellow members through the forum.
Cheers!

I have an 03 V92 classic cruiser that I got cheap because it was in a wreck and had a salvage title on it. The only problem with it is a dent in the tank. Other than that it runs great and only has about 19000 miles on it. Before that I was riding my dads yamaha 250, a fun little bike but I needed a little more power to do some real riding. I've been on this forum for a month or two now and have already gotten lots of good advice and help.

Just picked up a new 09 Vegas in dark cherry and white pearl yesterday. I added a stg1 kit with the down turned chrome pipes. The dealer, Wilmington PowersportsWilmington NC, put on a set of Ness teardrop mirrors that really added to the look. The bike runs great, pulls like a frieght train. I rode Ninjas for years and had not riddden in about 10. I started looking at Hogs a few months ago. A friend of mine at work Eddie Harris (RIP) who passed on suddenly Sunday from a heart attack and was a hardcore biker , who still had a shovel and a sporty suggested I try a Victory as he was on his second Kingpin. He was right the bike is great. the deal was incredable the team at Wilmington Powersports is wonderfull, I could nor be happier.

Older than dirt. Just turned 60.

Traded a Goldwing in on a Cross Roads. Love the bike. The styling. The ride. I will say it isn't as "refined" a ride as the wing was, but wouldn't go back. Picked it up yesterday and put about 100 mi on it. From the ride, the only thing I'll have to do for comfort is add highway pegs. I'm 6'-4".

Near Charlotte on the NC/SC border. Best of both worlds.

I just picked up my black Cross Country a week ago and have already put on over 900 miles. I test rode one at Americade and received a coupon for $1000 in free accessories. I have added stage 1, heated grips, ipod connections, lid organizers, and saddlebag liners. I am 33 years-old and live in New Hampshire. My previous bike was a Yamaha Road Star. I have rented pretty much all the Harley baggers and the Cross Country blows them away. I am just not into the "Harley thing," maybe I'm not old enough yet. Oh well, I look forward to learning a lot through this forum.

My name is Barry and I live in Bethlehem, PA. Not far from Beech Nut whom I have never met. I have had several bikes in my 47 years of riding. A few are a 1965 Hodaka Ace 90, a 1956 (Royal Enfield) Indian 700cc , a 1958 Triumph 650, a 1973 Harley Sportster, a 1974 Honda CB750, Two Gold wings (a '75 GL1000 and a '82 Interstate 1100). I presently own a '01 V92C Deluxe Cruiser that I call Vickie, or Vicky for short LOL.

I first got interested in motorcycles when my grandparent's next door neighbors were bikers and I loved the sound, the leather bags, the leather jackets, the chrome, the lights and most of all the sexy girls that were always hanging around. I guess in my old age I love that Vintage look, so that is the look I am going for. My bike is on photobucket. You can view it there. Enjoy.

aka TheHotNess,
My name is Jason, from Southeast Texas. I've owned a Honda Shadow 600VLX for my first bike, went up to a Suzuki Intruder 1400, but it had mechanical issues so I traded it in on a new 2006 Honda Shadow Spirit 750DC. After 4 years and 30,000 miles on that bike, I finally found the ONE. My current 2008 Victory Arlen Ness Jackpot had only 149 miles on her, and it was owned by my local Victory dealership's former manager. He never drove her. I WILL!!! I work for an oil refinery as a maintenance supervisor, and I'm 38 yrs. old and married with 4 children, one of which is in college. I've already made my first mod, by extending the shock links by 3/8" to lower the bike 1". I'll post pics later once I get more familiar with the site. cheers

Hey all.... Jim here aka "toejam" from Southern Indiana. I'm a rider of about 40+ years, some Honda's - started on a Mini-trail 50, went to a 70, then 450, followed by a 77' Kawasaki KZ-1000, then a 87' Suzuki GSXR-1100, after that a Kawasaki Vulcan 1500. Been a pretty good gap in time without one, then recently a 93' Kawasaki ZR-1100, and now a 06' Victory Hammer as seen below. The changes I have made in the 2 months I've had it are new rubber front and rear, mirrors, K&N air filter, remap, changed lowering straps back to stock ride height (I'm 6'3" and 285lbs) Learned the hard way that the original (previous) owner did not relocate the wire harness when he added the LED turn signals and lowering kit. Cost me a new auto turn cancel unit as well as a tail light - can we say O U C H? Anyway, glad to be here amongst fellow Vic riders!

Hello, Im new to the site and owning a Victory. I have a 99 V92C given to me by a relative that wanted it to go to a good home. It belonged to their husband that has passed. So it has been sitting for a few years. Needs some help to say the least.

This is my first bike I've owned. Im 38 years old and I love playing around with cars and trucks. Been doing it frome the time I was 16. I've modified quite a few. So I figured I would try to bring the Victory back to life.

I live in the North Shore, Mass. Area so ther is some good places to ride up here. Can't wait to get the bike bake to good running condition. Iwelcome all help and info on the 99 V92C. tech, parts, upgrades, must do's. Going to need all the help I can get.

Thanks. jdstang

Hello,

I purchased a Victory today. A 2004 TC. Should have it in a week or so since it will be coming from the other side of the country.

I have owned many Hondas over the years as well as a Sportster ( briefly).

My father owned a 2003 TC, which I thoroughly enjoyed riding.

So, I tossed back and fourth of wether to buy a Harley or a Victory this time around.

I think I made the right decision!cheers

Hi, I have owned over 30 bikes in the last 40 years and have owned H-D(s) for the last 20. I first saw a Vision at an intro 3 years ago and finally took a test ride. After one fast turn it was a done deal. Case closed, good-by Harley. Intake, exhaust and a cam later I can tell you this a fast great handling rig. I'm looking forward to a long trip and hearing from fellow Victory owners about their bikes. PB

I posted pics of the HMD Vision on that other site for you. I was never really fond of the Vision until I saw that one. Saying that I had the opportunity to attend the Victory Tech class they offered to introduce the Vision to dealers.

I rode a pre production one and man was that a hell of a ride. The Vision handles great!!

I think you need to go to a dealer and test ride one for a bit.thumb up

Been surfing this site for a few months, but first post.

Name is Kerry. Male, 40 yrs old.
Been riding for about 4 yrs. Had never ridden before taking the safety training course. Only took 2 wks after getting my license to find my first bike, Boulevard 800. Nice bike to cut my teeth on. Moved up to a VTX 1800 the next year. Then last year sold the VTX and bought a 2010 Victory Cross Roads, midnight cherry.
Broke it in just in time to ride to The Rally. Love getting on the open road and just going.

In the group I ride with I'm the only one without a Harley. Fun to give them a hard time. Personally, I feel as long as you're riding it's a good thing, regardless of what kind it is. It's all a matter of personal preference.

Currently live in Sioux Falls, SD. Been to Sturgis the past 3 yrs. Want to ride out to the West Coast and take the PCH down the Oregon coast into Cali and then back thru Utah and Colo.

Enjoying this site as there is a lot of good info to be found and knowledge shared.

Thanks.

I own three motorcycles. One Victory Hammer (2007), One Victory Vegas(2004), and a 1200 low sportster(2009).

The Hammer has had pistons, andrews cams, 2 into1 exhaust, power comander, and dyno tuned. The Vegas has been down to the frame and completely redone top to bottom. The other bike is stock.

I am 57 years young and plan to enjoy riding until I can't walk!
