The zipper on my jacket keeps scratching the gas tank on my Cross Roads. Does anyone know if someone is making a Leather Panel (Bra) for the XR yet?

Thanks;

Haven't seen one out there yet. Not trying to bust your chops here but if you know the zipper is hitting it. Then zip up when you are around your bike???

try an aftermarket auto speciaty shop, what your looking for is a clear bra for autos, they may sell it by the foot, i bought some for my bike,
from a shop that installs window film for autos and clear bras for autos, you apply it using a diluted soap solution, apply the piece and work out the soap, its exactly like applying window film. the plastic does not contain any adhesive.

Well you did break my chops-----but I deserved it. I mis-spoke. I wore the jacket once. It was a reversable jacket and had two large brass tabs on the bottom of the jacket. You close one side and the other tab stays on the bottom. It did enough damage on that one ride that I am going to have to visit the body shop. Hopefully he can buff it out and not have to re-paint. I would still like to find someone who makes a Tank Panel (Bra)
for the XR. I guess it's still to new.
Thanks for the response.

Thanks for the response. I never heard of that. I might give it a try if I can't find a leather one.
Thanks again

I had a similar problem and managed to get the scratches buffed out for $50.00 Cdn. The autobody shop suggested I go to the local 3M dealer and buy a small piece of clear plastic. He said they'd likely even put it on for nothing. I have yet to do this and would like to see what you came up with. I had a Mustang tank bib on my previous bike and it scuffed the paint to the point where no amount of waxing got it out. I'd be concerned that we'd be trading one problem for another. Any pics you can post? In the meantime I simply tuck or role the bottom part of my jacket up a bit so that the zipper is on the inside.
Thanks

The Cross tanks are different from the other models. The fuel filler is on the right upper side of the tank on the X bikes. The filler is top and center on the Vegas bikes.

For a temporary fix I ended up with a Magnetic Tank Pad by mag-knight.com. I bought the large (9X12) plain sheet. They call it the simple sheet. You can cut it to any size you want. There really made for sport bikes but the wife cut out a fancy oval shape and it actually looks pretty good, and it covers the scratch area. They call it magnetic but there is no metal in it. You heat it up and put it in place and it stays on, but then peels off when you want and leaves no marks. Then you can re-use it again. Once I get the scratches fixed, I'll put it back on until I decide what to do. I'm still hoping I can get a Leather Bra somewhere. I had a studded wide one made by Yamaha on my Roadstar Silverado and it looked great, and was lined so it didn't scratch the tank.
Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the offer, but as you can see by the other posts the tanks are different.
