I am in hopes you find this information as interesting as being apart of this ride. i am in hopes you all enjoy the short story. I think I got as many comments and looks at my Vision as were riders. Enjoy.

Hello everyone,
I am in hopes you are all feeling well and riding safe. I would like to start by saying Thank You to our veterans in our Star Family. I truly appreciate your service to our country.

Today June 26, 2010 I left the house about 6:00 am to go over to Tulsa and be one of the escort riders for the Dignity Memorial, the moving Vietnam Wall Memorial. This was one of the most awesome, inspiring things that I have ever done in my life. I got to Tulsa around 7:45 am this morning and arrived at Tulsa University at about 8:30 am after fueling my bike up for the ride back to Norman. When I got to the commons on the TU campus, there were probably around 100 bikes and riders there ahead of me. I registered for the ride and visited with several of the Veterans who so proudly served our Great Country. We were kickstands up at 10:00 am.

We left the commons with police and sheriff escorts through the city streets of Tulsa (this was a non-stop ride to Norman). We made our way to Route 66 and headed towards Norman with pickup points at Depew and Fire Lake Casino where others could join up at the end of the group of riders.

When we arrived at Norman they were estimating or trying to estimate the number of bikes. It was in excess of 500 bikes. Sometimes we would be riding 2 abreast and other times a staggered formation. Going through the city streets, small towns, and even on the highway, people were stopped with their flags out, yellow ribbons and in clothing in patriotic colors waving and saluting us as we rode through or past them.

This was the most gratifying experience and it will probably be hard to have another one like it. I wish more of you could have been there to ride along with me to understand what this meant to me because my short story cannot begin to describe this event that I took part in today.

Once again Thank You to all of you who have and do serve our Great Country.
