Never thought i would own a Brand New Victory. My girl and me been both taking turn on the old vstar 650. She has a 250 she beats around on. She finally broke down and told me to get a bike so she could have the Vsyar full time, which is what i want her on. So we drove 100 miles into town to the Victory dealership intending to check out used bikes, but when we arrived they was having a BIG sale. So we checked em all out, went for lunch and discussed it. She said "Buy a NEW one!!", to which i simply replied with a smile. "ok". So we head back in and i grabbed the Kingpin cuz the hammer was still too much money right now. VERY glad i didnt start with the hammer. As i left the dealership on my new KP i hit 2nd gear and popped the clutch....dam near flew off the back!!!! LMAOOO So since i aint used to the massive HP and torque i think the KP will good for now. Will grab a hammer later.

O..the ride home.....

my FIRST EVER 100 mile ride on a bike....longest ride i have ever done. Thankfully the Highways up here are hardly ever busy. Got a bug to the side of the nose that left its guts and a couple legs INSIDE my glasses. Had a couple nasty stingers. Windshield is already on order. =)

Wow, Dropy ... what a coincidence. I'm picking up my new (to me) 2007 Kingpin this week. And, like you, I'm moving from a V-Star 650. Good luck with the new ride!

WOW Bzippi. that is cool man. I still think the Vstar was more comfy though. But i am sure once i get a new saddle and highway pegs and stuff on my KP it will also be an enjoyable ride on long hauls.

Best of luck to you and your KP!

Welcome to the Victory Forums.

A couple of pointers. Check out the “how to” in regard to posting pics here.

The Search feature is your friend!  You will find the answers to a lot of your questions by using it.

If you are asking questions that are of a technical/mechanical/electrical/performance nature please place them in the “Victory Tech and Performance” forum. This will speed up a response. Placing them in the model specific forum can delay a response.

Now that the welcome is out of the way. Lets talk about the year bike you bought. You are asking good questions BUT the year bike you have is important for the correct answers!!

So what year KP you got?

Ron, is your mustang seat the one with the removable drivers and passengers backrests? I've been doing alot of long hauls lately and need to upgrade my seat and hers as well...

First of all, WELCOME Dropy! You will not regret buying a Kingpin!

I went from a sportster to the kp and LOVE the differences. the KP is a better bike
all around.

I added the basic Mustang Vintage Solo and couldn't be happier. Very comfy for all day long riding. Definitely need a shield. Beyond that, pipes and intake are the way to go. Skip the stage 1 stuff and go for the big boy taxes....s&s intake and a set of performance pipes. It will change your world!!

This is a great site to make friends and find out what others are doing to their vics!

Good luck, ride safe and have fun...both you and the gf!
