Just got off the phone with my dealer...I have had an on going issue of an oily substance leaking out onto my motor, my chrome trim and my rear anti tip overs...Initially they (the dealership) siad it was my crankcase vent, so they wire tied it tight to the connection and said all's fixed...

Now I have had it in for scheduled maintenance and had them check this again, as there is still an oily substance showing up on all of the above...Now thay are saying my GAS TANK NECK (where you fill up the motorcycle) is crimped and is allowing gas to leak out of it...Dealer states that I have been pushing down on the filler neck while getting gas and this caused the failure...I told him I NEVER push down on the filler neck as I have to hold the gas nozzle up to see whne the tank is FULL...

I asked if this was covered under warranty (still the first year of ownership) and he said it WOULD NOT!!! (WTF????)

Has anyone else had an issue with the filler neck on their Vision? If this is NOT covered under warranty I am contacting a lawyer regarding this as this is TOTALLY INSANE!!!

Just a heads up check the filler neck on your Vision is you have a fluid showing up on your motor or and where back of there...It might be GAS!!

Since you cross posted I am deleting the thread in the Vision forum and responding here.

Do you have the stock crankcase tube or do you have a filter? If you have a filter then you are going to get that oily substance.

Sounds like BS to me about the gas because gas is not oily and it dissipates quickly. If its oily it could be from the motor, valve covers etc. The problem you have now is your motor is modified. The engine has been opened up and that presents a problem.

Try cleaning your bike and engine really good. When you see the oily substance follow the path. That will show you where its coming from. Then try another dealer and see what happens.

Thanks Diamond...Yeah I just went and picked up the bike from the dealer...It turns out that the fille rneck is NOT the issue..It is more the threads that hold the gas cap on to the filler neck...Tech took me out and showed me the path that he found...Sure enough it starts at the gas cap and works its way down to the motor, to the back chrome piece and anti tip over...I am going to see if I can massage it back in place...CAREFULLY!! (one spark and BOOM) Might expalin why my gas cap hasn't fit properly since having the bike!!
