Any one know of a place to pick up the spring adjustment tool for the kingpin.
Barracudacustom.com wants 44.95 plus 9 bucks shipping for this basic tool. Anyone know of any where, any thing that will do the trick for less????
Thanks

The only one on Ebay is more expensive. The reason Im asking is that the Victory dealer in San Antonio doesn't seem to be able to find the part number for it. Ive also called 2 other dealers in Tx that sell victory and none have it. They dont even have the part number. It's a Polaris item but seems impossible to find. The part number in the owners manual is PV-46993
Ive found one made by motion pro but it isnt specifically made for Victory bikes. Anyone know if this will work/ if all spanner wrenches are generally the same??
Any help is better than no help

Your going to be disappointed when I tell you this. I searched and searched with no luck on a cheaper tool. Ended up using Barracudacustom spending 50+ for the tool, but the up side is, I now own it. cheers

Actually went to my vic dealer and they found a bunch in one of their catalogs. Its an adjustable spring wrench so there is no worry about it not fitting the kingpins locking collars. Only paid 25.00 for it and it has a rubberized handle. Looks a lot like the barracuda one for half the price.

I need to adjust the ride stiffness for my '06 KP for 2 up riding. I get an occasional bottom out squeak when riding with the wife. Please post the victory part number as I would like to purchase this tool. I am assuming the adjustment is a relatively easy thing to do. Thanks for the info.

My Vic dealer had a hard time finding the Pure Polaris part number indicated in my owners manual. They eventually just found another parts book which listed spanner wrenchs for yamaha, honda etc and i picked the one that was spring loaded (adjustable) so It would work on my bike. They would have sold me the polaris one had they found the part number in their books!

Oh and by the way, its very easy to adjust the shock.
Remove the cheezewedge from the right hand side, remove the 3 bolts that hold the fuse box to the frame and just move it out of the way to give you plenty of room to adjust the shock.
One of the easiest things to adjust in my opinion.

How do you know how much to adjust, and is there a 'starting point' marked somewhere?

My dealer said to use a screwdriver and lightly tap the grooved ring. He said it will easily adjust.

The recommended ride height is 5 inches. You need to sit on the bike, place all gear that you will be riding with including any passengers and then measure from the bottom of the frame down to the ground. With everything on the bike, it should be 5 inches in height. Adjust from this point either up or down to get 5 inches.
The hammer/screwdriver will work , but will cause indentions in the ring, especially if your trying to raise the bike higher. Even if you elevate the rear wheel to relieve some tension, you still have to hit it fairly hard and many many times to get the actual ride height to raise or lower. Best bet, if your going to be adjusting your ride height more than once, go to the victory dealer and have them look in their parts books for an adjustable spanner wrench. Like I said, got mine for 25.00 and works like a charm.
