The modding that is.

Dropped the bike off Thursday evening for 500 mile service and picked it up Friday afternoon. As soon as I got home I called Lloyds and ordered air filter, VFCIII, and IAC. Called to order exhaust but it was late and I had to leave a VM, hope to get that on order Monday.

Also planning a light bar and some HID's, not sure what I'll do after that but I'm sure now that I've started it won't stop there.

:)

I told myself I wasn't going to spend much more than the initial cost of my XC... " Had" to buy handlebars, lowering link to make the bike fit.. Bought a pcv the other day and will buy the auto tune in a few weeks.. Going to buy D&D exhaust this winter.. Probably plan a trip to Lloyd's or the Vic shop or perhaps Gainesville for the cams this coming spring.. Probably do a amp and speaker upgrade.. WTH happened to not doing much to this bike...?!!

Even people that start with a nice platform have a hard time resisting the temptation to individualize! I started with accessories then wrecked the bike and replaced the accessories with new ones where many others start with performance mods which I may add in the future.

The point is that if you feel the urge to mod than mod till your budget (or your spouse) restricts you! This tends to be easier to manage for people with limited hobbies...

Note that if you don't plan on keeping the bike your mods should be removable or you should be ready to face the fact that they don't do much to increase the value of your project.

Yep I figured the bike was as good as it gets without mods.. That started going away as soon as I rode the bike home to Arkansas from Gainesville where I bought the bike used.. The real problem started as I found the forums lol...

Well That is a much better more correct statement than someone saying that they are finished with mods.

We all start sooner or later BUT do we ever finish?? Do we??

And I don't remember welcoming you to the forum....so....Welcome and enjoy!!

Today feels like Christmas, UPS dropped off a package from Lloyds and my Bassani exhaust from Honda East, then my dealer called and my coupon issue (see other thread) is finally fully resolved and he asked me to send him a list of $1000 worth of accessories so he can get them on order.

Heading to the garage now to start working on the install.

Merry Christmas! thumb up

Finished installing everything on Thanksgiving, getting to the injectors was a pain but got it done. After some minor tuning in the garage last night finally got to take it out for a test ride today. Runs great, sounds great, and no popping at all so far.:)

i know how it is. Also this is the first bike i really spend a lot of miles on, and i made a mistake with the soft bags. So on my list are hard bags, but such a waste of money. Will have to try trading the soft bags and money for someone with hard bags they may not have wanted.

Finally got my accessory order from Victory today, and also got some new goodies for Christmas for the bike. The list keeps growing but at this point the only other thing else I want to do is get the seat reworked.

From Victory:
Aux light kit
front & rear chrome fender guards
chrome rear master cylinder cover
chrome kickstand and spring
chrome clutch actuator cover
chrome comfort grips

for Christmas I got from Witchdoctors:
polished front master cylinder cap
rear brake reservoir cover
polished passenger floorboard inserts
oil dipstick thermometer

and a set of HID bulbs

Just lashed out on my new mod. A set of cross country bars for my Cross Roads. should give me a nice pull back for a spend of $35.00 on ebay :)

Postage to OZ $60 so for around $100 buck I hope to be a happy camper :)

There's a few ways your bike gets "done".
1. The new owner rides it away while you head to the bank.
2. The dealer rolls it into the back so they can swap the plate to your new one while you check out the doodads they got hanging on the wall in parts.
3. The wrecker hauls it away while you dicker with the insurance man.
4. The thief disappears with it while you wait for the check.

I have bikes that are parked 2000 miles away that I haven't ridden in years that I am still having stuff drop shipped to.

Done can be found under the heading "Who is kidding who?" in the big book of lies we tell ourselves.

Oh yeah, Crash55 nice hit. Even with shipping it's still a decent hit. Pop watches Aussie stuff on Discovery and whatnot and on my bucket list, right near the top, is blowing by one a them road trains at a good clip. I don't care who you are that kind of stuff just cannot get old.
