Welcome to the forums Tank, glad you are looking at a Vic as they are a reliable, fun machine to ride! Im on my 2nd one now..
Im not up and up on the Vegas nor the mods he has on it but with some time to kill at work tonight I was doing some research. Going to include a couple links for you to make your own determination. Im only trying to offer some information, hopefully some others chime in that may have a better Vegas background. I know on TC's, they actually seem to be going back up since I bought mine so that shows the increasing demand for Vic I would think. Solid machines!
First, looking at the boat market... I think that is a question you have to ask and answer yourself. My neighbor is stuck under his right now valued and booked at 42K but reality has it selling for right around low 30's in our area ranging out to 500+miles. Just an example as I know its a trade for the bike. Are you wanting to get out from under your boat and get something with less taxes and more use? Which one going to give you more use in current economy should you try to sell it outright.
Now the bike:
Hey all, I don't own a Victory but a guy wants to trade my boat for his Vegas. I do have a bike that I put over 18k into and know I'll never get that money back out of it. I was wondering if this was the case with this bike too.
Because we choose to accesorize, it is just like personalizing a house. May not be what the buyer wants nor does he think its worth that amount, we just wind up eatting a chunk of that cost to make it our own when we sell it. You liked your bike and made it yours... For everything else, theres mastercard!
It's a 2005 Vegas with less than 2500 miles on it...here's his description of the bike....
I bought it new in 2006
Still a 2005, sorry... Not your problem he had to pay for accys so he could get the 16.5 either. Looking at cycletrader the prices seem to be all over the place for the bike itself. 8-10K for low milage 2005-2006 kinda an average.

I had them put the 100ci bore kit on the bike at purchase, added the wheels $3500 which I know was nuts!
100ci ok, performance but the 3500 on the wheels.. Yes it was nuts. Sorry, he's gonna have to eat a chunk of that one.. And do you like the wheels?
led turn signals for $1000.
I think he got taken bad!
shotgun pipes and the stage 2 kit which was chipped and a k and n air flow system.
Here is Lloyds web for the Vegas:

Check it out Lloyds for the part pricing then come up with a guess for yourself. As I understood it, 2:1 were the better choice anyway.. Hopefully HalfCrazy may chime in here, he does have a good knowledge of engine performance and what the cost would be.
What do you think the bike is worth?
My thought is this. Can you sell the boat and pick up a Vic that you like appearance wise? It don't take a butt ton of cash to bring that 100ci to life without going into the engine unless you want to. Fuel controler, cams, filter and pipes will have you grinning ear to ear. May be cheaper in the end. Or, if you have had your fun in the boat and time to move on. Could be an easy cross over. Keep in mind that 2500 miles in 6 years could easily mean tires, battery too. Check for any cracking.
I know I am not answering your question outright but hope it gives you some more info to base your decision on. Keep us posted and like I said, as the sun rises, I am sure you will get some more feedback. I seen you were on so thought I would toss this your way.
