I just ordered a set of High and Low beam HID's from VictoryHID.com Price seemed right and the warranty CERTAINLY seems right. Has anyone else gone with HID's? the searches I did didn't come up with much. When I get mine in I'll post my findings.

Just installed mine - 2012 XCT. You only need one HID for the XCT. I like the light. SB can follow-up with particulars on which bikes he can supply the bulbs for if he wants. :)

I have been thinking about this upgrade for a while now but didn't totally understand what was involved. I read all 13 pages from the HID conversion thread and the first 27 pages from this thread. Cross Roads, you are a very stand up guy with what sounds like a great product at a great price. As soon as I can decide whether to get a high/low kit or just the low beam kit, I will be purchasing a kit for my '07 Ness Jackpot very soon.

Cross Roads, I know that I would appreciate the high beam HID but just don't know how quickly I would ruin the high beam bulb or ballast by using the stock PTP button or the high beam itself for short periods of time. Any thoughts?

I have the F2P on my bike, and no issues. For further peace of mine, you have a lifetime warranty on the kit. ;)

I think you have that backwards. The high beam is HID stock.
No, I have it right. :) What makes you think I have it backwards?

You're describing your beams focus, which is normal - low beam focused on a closer light pattern, and high beam adds the wider spread pattern. However, this has nothing to do with the light intensity of the bulb.

#513 ·
Is it true that you need to wear a radiation suit when handling these bulbs?
No, but you have to hold your breath the whole installation time. :ltr:

#517 ·
No, the kit will not power up if the wrong polarity is applied. Just plug it in one way, test it, and if it doesn't work, reverse the connector.

Help!

I installed the 6000 blue beam lights late last night; both the low and high beam.

Went out tonight and tried them out.

My low beam is better than stock but not what I was hoping for. I was hoping for low beams similar to my Kawi Concours or my Honda VFR. It's brighter than stock but kind of "scattered about" for lack of a better term instead of being a focused beam which is what I was hoping for... But, it is still better than stock so I'm okay with that part.

My high beam is a beautiful, bright, focused beam of light that really lights up the road! Love it!

But....

Every time I turn on the high beam, my stereo shuts off??? It comes back on eventually but it's like turning my bike off and then back on! It happens every single time I hit my brights!

So... It's a wet 43 degrees here in Portland and tonight I had the driver seat heater on high and the heated grips on low. I also have the RF amp on my stereo that's sucking some power... I tried turning the stereo down to no volume and it still happened.

Didn't try turning off my grip heaters or the seat but wish I would have thought about it at the time...

Is this just to be expected with HID lights or did I do something wrong during the install, or do I have bad HIDs or do I have an electrical problem?

Anyone else experienced this?

Thanks!

Quiet helps you focus on the road. I'm working on a similar device for cell phone users next...

Seriously, that is weird. You'd think that if the circuit was pulling too much current it would simply pop the fuse. Stereo prolly has some sort of voltage monitor and kills itself if it gets too low as a self protective measure.

...
My electrical accessories are as follows:
Kuryakyn LED laydown license plate
Vic factory heated seat
Vic factory grip heaters
Rockford Fosgate 300x4 amp with Polk 5.25 speakers in fairing (trunk not attached right now.)

With driver seat heater on high, grip heaters on low, the stereo resets every time I hit my brights.

With driver seat heat on high, grip heaters off, the stereo only resets about 50% of the time.

With all heated accessories off, both HIDs work fine without any stereo reset!...
Bummer. Sounds like you've got too many toys! Writing a letter to Santa to take you off the list. :ltr:

Sorry the high beam didn't work out for you. Fill out the form here: http://victoryhid.com/contact.php and I will help you with the return and refund.

08 Kingpin high/low hid purchase

All I have to say is awesome. CR is great to do business with and the products are amazing. I had purchased bulbs brighter than stock before from an auto parts store, but they burned out quickly. I then purchased the high/low kit for my 08 Kingpin from CR and don't regret it a bit. I live in the country and the new bulbs are amazingly bright. Low beam is perfect for most occasions, but when I do hit on the bright beam it is almost as good as driving during the day. Thanks for the great product and the great service. I have recommended to my friends that have Victory bikes.

Finally got around to installing my low beam HID kit and wow what a difference. The only thing different that I am noticing than everyone else on here is that mine fire up immediately - I am not having to wait for the fuel pump to cycle like I have read others doing and I also have a RF 300 watt amp cycling on at the same time! CrossRoads did you change up something???

The lights fire up instantly for everyone - nobody ever said they were having a cigarette break waiting for their lights to come on. :ltr:

However, if the light's not fully warmed up, which takes about 5-6 seconds, as soon as you start the motor, it will shut off and not come back on. It's a good habit to wait the 5-6 seconds between the time you turn the key in the ignition and pressing the starter button. Better safe than sorry.

I'm with everyone else, the HID is a great addition to my ride.

But, I'm one of the odd ducks where my radio resets when I initally turn the high beam on. My bike is an '012 XCT so the high beam is the only addition.

I have not added any other accessories and the bike is only 6 mos old.

I have installed according to directions and made sure the HID wires are nowhere near any others.

While it's an annoyance and wish there was a solution, I'm not about to return the HID - it lights up the country roads far too well!!

Customer made video of the 6,000K kit on an XC.

Got mined installed last night. Can't wait to try'em out tonight. That headlight bucket's getting pretty packed. Thanks for taking good care of us CrossRoads.
You're welcome. Did you get them installed yet?

#538 ·
No, sir. Sorry. The light bar lights for the XR do not have enough bucket room for the ballasts, so there won't be a kit for the light bar.

I ordered and installed the low and high beam (6000 Kelvin – blue tint) OEM to HID Upgrade kit for my 07 Hammer S from CrossRoads (VictoryHID.com). There were no issues the installation and everything fit in the headlight bucket.

The results were amazing! The illumination of the HIDs is orders of magnitude brighter. I feel I am more visible (blue tint sets you apart from the standard lights) to other drivers and my visibility at night is greatly increased.

It’s an incredible price for an amazing product. If you are considering adding HIDs to your bike, I highly recommend this quality product and CrossRoads provides outstanding customer service.

Bought the hi/low 6k received 3 days later installed them last night and then took off the H3 driving lights because I dont think that I will need them. I will be taking her out for a ride tonight to test them out. Thank you CR they seem to be a great upgrade. Now I am awaiting my brake light strobe module and Fi2000 pwrpro.

The pictures showing comparison between OEM halogen and HID seem to show a 5,000K kit - I cannot tell you for sure, as I don't remember who sent those to me, and the color shown in pictures is always subject to the camera settings the pictures are being shot with.

Thank you CR they seem to be a great upgrade.
Thanks CR. great product.

Thanks CrossRoads.
You're welcome guys. Thank you for all the positive feedback.
How often do these puppies burn out? Should I get a back up bulb in case one of them go out?
The bulbs are rated to 2,500 hours. If you average 40-50 mph, it translates into 100,000-125,000 miles of riding. So, I don't recommend investing in extras.

HID lights

I really like mine. I got the 5000 K, high and low beam. Bought thru VictoryHID.
I also have Clearwater Adjustable lights, I love them. These suckers are really bright.:)

I need some help CR. I just installed your low beam kit on my '07 Ness Jackpot. I followed all of the instructions to include cutting up my old bulb holder. When I turned the key on, the bulb did not fire up at all. I did not try to start the engine only turned the key. Any ideas?

This is a quote from: http://victoryhid.com/faq.php:
Q: Installed the kit, but light does not turn on, and seems dead. What do I do?
A: Simply reverse the polarity of the kit at the OEM connection.

The kits are all wired correctly, where the red wire is always the positive, and the black is the negative (symbols of + and - on the connector are also correct). However, some of the Vics have the polarity backwards from factory. How's that possible? Halogen bulbs don't care about polarity, so even if the polarity is backwards, the stock halogen bulbs work.

The only thing to worry for you is if you plug it in, and it does not work - if that's the case, reverse the polarity, and it should fire up. Don't worry about giving the kit the wrong polarity - it detects it and plays dead - no damage will occur.
