How Often Do You Ride?

Well I'm not a Victory owner, but I have a question for all those who are, I have found that the amount I ride a bike is directly proportional to how much fun I have while I'm on it. For instance, I owned a Honda Shadow until I traded it for a Suzuki SV650 about a week ago. I generally rode the Honda about once a week on average, but since I've gotten the Zuke I've ridden it every single day, it's just that much more fun. So, my question for you guys is, how often do you ride your Victory?

I ride almost every day, mostly back and forth to work all year long. I do this cuz I love to ride. I wish I could ride more longer rides but I have young kids and I just can't. I do use little tricks though. When we go somewhere as a family (to include my brother in laws kids) me and him take the bikes and the wives get the van. Works well for all of us. I have put approx 10000 miles a year on it sense I have ones it. I still take it out to go nowhere at times just to ride with a smile:) my bother in law rids a ninja 1000. He has said if I rode a sport bike he might not be able to keep up. I ride like I stole it.

My bike is my daily driver.

Everyday unless it's raining. That's about 341 days a year in Southern California. cheers

I try to ride everyday. I use it like a car and only use my truck when I have large items to transport. Some of friends use all types of excuses why they can't ride (too cloudy, too sunny, it might rain, too hot, too cold, too windy, too short of a ride to bother taking it out, too far of a ride, it might get dirty, its too dirty etc). I make up reasons to ride (volunteer to pick up stuff for the misses etc). I love to ride. When I see someone on a beautiful sunny day and they say to me "it's a great day to ride". My reply is "It's always a great day to ride."

i ride almost everyday, weather permitting. i dont mind getting rained on, i do avoid it on the Victorys for their safety but when i had my 01 triumph legend that i got for $850, i rode alot in the rain on it and the vic in the sun. heat wont keep me off but the cold can, i dont have proper cold weather gear so once im shaking so much that im not enjoying myself i stop.

i've been clocking about 8500 a year, most of which is BSing 100mile trips with the friends, since the average commute to work is less than 6miles a day.

Every day, everywhere. About three days per year there is snow or ice on the ground. I don't ride on those three days. I don't have a car or truck -- just the Cross Country Tour. My wife has a Jeep, so I can borrow it occasionally, if I need to haul something too big for the bike.

I use my bikes for a 20 mile round trip commute to work, so they get riden several times a week. Even so, I'm only clocking about 3000 miles a year on both bikes combined because we do get a lot of rain (and I do not ride in the rain if I can help it, I don't consider it safe nor comfortable, personal preference), and I haven't had time for long trips... hope to change that!

Ride it!

I have 1 proof tro riding:
I don't mind the cold and I don't mind the rain--cold and wet I don't like to do.

If it is a chance of rain, I ride. If it is raining: I weigh the risks. how long has it been raining? do I have a change of clothes at work? Is it supposed to be perfect later? If the balance is greater than 50% of a good ride. I ride. If it is freezing and raining when I leave the house...I believe that is a saftey hazard for me and my family.thumb up

Main means of transportation!

Ride 120 miles round trip Monday thru Friday unless there is ice on the road. Best part of my job is the ride!
Weekends, just depends!

2011 Cross Country - 39,500
2006 Road Star - 98,300

Jeez....no weekend riders like me. I dont have a job...so cant ride to work, and the bus im in i cannot ride there either... so that leaves weekends and sometimes during the week when i can. I put 10,000 miles on her in less than a year so not bad for a weekender....

Weekend/Holiday/summer evenings rider. I'm a wildland fire fighter and drive my work truck home so no riding bike to work and I am on call 9 months out of the year so no long trips till late spring to early fall. I still manage to put about 5k miles a year on 2 wheels and half that is a couple of trips I take with my buddies each year.

Weather = 40% rain or less, I ride and temps = year round minus Ice from accumulated moister.

Miles are roughly 1200 a month for work and back plus weekends for lesiure to make 1500+. Ride to the store, neighbors or any possible chance because the bikes (two now) are so dang much fun to ride. I don't ride to save gas, thats for sure

I've got the 04 TC that is now more for fun and work on Sunday's to keep the adreniline rushing and the Vision for daily/long rides. I would take the TC or the Vision on 1000 miles on a moments notice, they're that dang dependable. Don't think I could have a better pair of bikes.

Only thing that beats pulling the Vic out of the garage for a ride is pulling them both out!

I had a SV1000 and it was fast and a blast. The riding position and wrist cramp changed me over to cruisers in 2001. I ride to work or for parts for the garage, you do not have that much storage on a Suzuki unless you do some modifying. :crzy:

Year round unless there's ice or snow on the roads!

I don't ride enough...

I work some odd hours and many days I am just too lazy/tired to take the bike to work, it is easier to leave it in the garage. That said I only have a 2 mile commute, this year I've got about 10,000 miles on 2 wheels and less then 2,000 on my Jeep/wife's car. If I could only ride while at work, that would be great, I think I have somewhere between 20-30k miles in the vehicles at work. With most of that being less then 15 miles at a time.

I wish I could ride that much. Here in Northeast Ohio it's the end of the season for me. I don't like riding much below the mid 40's. I was happy to get 3 days in this last week to work as that is most of my riding with 2 little ones. I did get 4k on it in my first year of owning it so that felt good. I am hoping for one or two more nice days here. thumb up
