I have been pounding through sites looking for an 07 Vegas 8 ball front break switch ( little guy under the brake master cylinder). All the sites that have OEM parts break downs of the front brake system and show all the parts except the switch. I have looked at newer years of the Vegas and those diagrams have the front brake switch pictured but it looks to me like it is a different style from the 07. Does anyone know where I can find one? Or has anyone got there's apart and fixed it? This thing is sealed up tight so I doubt anyone wants to mess with trying to fix it. I have a friend driving 8 hours to come visit me in 2 weeks and they want to ride. I really want to have this fixed by then.
Not having seen exactly how the one on your bike is broken off, it is hard to tell what kind of fix will work. BUT, if there is enough of a stub left to see you can fix it... drill a small hole in the center of it and screw in a stub or even a small screw. Fixed one of mine that way and rode it for years with no further problems.
Are you looking for #5 now thats the only one I could find and its for a 08 that might be what you have for controls. From what I see 07 doesn't have a switch. http://parts.polarisind.com/Assemblies.asp
Handyhoward the switch button itself isnt broken I believe it is the wiring inside that is going bad. It will works and then it wont. It is just a small switch harness but I cant seem to find it online. I am assuming that I will have to start calling dealerships.
VisionJohnny -The number 5 is what I am looking for but like I said the diagrams dont show it on the 07. I was going to just go up a year but the assembly is different and I am pretty sure that I won't work for the 07.
well I am an idiot, if I would of looked a little bit harder and read a little better I would of noticed that the switch is not in the picture but it is in the parts list. WOW do I feel dumb. thanks for the help though. For anyone out there that has the same problem the part# is 4110242
Glad you found it but it shouldn't have stopped you from riding. You could always use your foot brake enough to alert anyone behind you if that's what you were concerned about.
That wasnt the thing that stopped me from riding, I made myself a side mount license plate braket and hacked off the ugly stock mount. I left the stock flashers tell the aftermarket ones get in. While I was messing with the bracket though the right flasher decided to go out on me. Well after a few minutes of trying to find the problem I realized that the bulb had just come a little loose so that was an easy fix. I took it for a ride the other day and must have not tightened the lens screw enough and lost the thing somewhere on the road. I was a little miffed at myself but I already had the aftermarket flashers coming anyway.
