I just ordered a set of High and Low beam HID's from VictoryHID.com Price seemed right and the warranty CERTAINLY seems right. Has anyone else gone with HID's? the searches I did didn't come up with much. When I get mine in I'll post my findings.
I have the F2P on my bike, and no issues. For further peace of mine, you have a lifetime warranty on the kit.Cross Roads, I know that I would appreciate the high beam HID but just don't know how quickly I would ruin the high beam bulb or ballast by using the stock PTP button or the high beam itself for short periods of time. Any thoughts?
No, I have it right. What makes you think I have it backwards?I think you have that backwards. The high beam is HID stock.
No, but you have to hold your breath the whole installation time. :ltr:Is it true that you need to wear a radiation suit when handling these bulbs?
Quiet helps you focus on the road. I'm working on a similar device for cell phone users next...Every time I turn on the high beam, my stereo shuts off??? It comes back on eventually but it's like turning my bike off and then back on! It happens every single time I hit my brights!
Did you install the ballasts as indicated in the installation notes: http://victoryhid.com/special-xc-install.php ?...Every time I turn on the high beam, my stereo shuts off??? It comes back on eventually but it's like turning my bike off and then back on! It happens every single time I hit my brights!
I just came in from working on the bike. What does the Voltage read when the bike's just idling?
I might be an electromagnetic interference (EMI) issue. I don't know much about the source that drives the lights, but if it has a switching element it could be emitting a high frequency signal back onto the power line that causes the issue. I thought you were saying earlier that the radio didn't work? Does it work once it resets? If so, I'd still be guessing it's a transient loss of voltage due to an inrush of current to start the light. With driver seat heater on high, grip heaters on low, the stereo resets every time I hit my brights.
You're welcome. Did you get them installed yet?Got mined installed last night. Can't wait to try'em out tonight. That headlight bucket's getting pretty packed. Thanks for taking good care of us CrossRoads.

You're welcome guys. Thank you for all the positive feedback. Thanks CrossRoads.
The bulbs are rated to 2,500 hours. If you average 40-50 mph, it translates into 100,000-125,000 miles of riding. So, I don't recommend investing in extras. How often do these puppies burn out? Should I get a back up bulb in case one of them go out?
