Default F0000000000K Victory! OEM center stand sucks!!!!

Okay, I defended it. I liked it, originally. Now I fargin' hate it. It is the worst piece of engineering crap and Victory should recall every last bike with one and anyone who has bought the part and installed it and start again!

It's been a few months that I've had it on. I kept air pressure in the rear shock to keep the stand from dragging around lefthand corners. A few days ago I noticed that the leg of the stand had dented the corner of my exhaust shield elbow. Clearly, it had scraped and dented around a sharp lefthand corner. I saw the dent and I started seeing red... Breathe... Relax... I'm going to black them out - I can have the dent removed. Fill the shocks with more air... Lessons learned. Relax.

Today, I'm at a store. Flat surface. There's a curb to the right. I'm away from everyone. It's a nice day. No wind. I go into the store, the bike is fine. I return from the store. The bike is on its right side, against the curb. This isn't a smooth concrete curb. There's a buckle in it and the bike landed on the exposed buckle, right on the saddle bag. F00000000000000000K! Cracked the bag!

I've ordered a center stand from Buy Witchdoctors and taking this piece of shit off. I can't believe how badly designed this thing is!!!!

You will like the Witchdoctors stand, I've got one and am very happy with it.

I have posted more than a couple times how terrible that OEM stand is and yet some won't listen and have to learn the hard way. I removed mine the next day after purchasing my bike with it installed just cuz it dragged in turns, limiting lean angle - a very dangerous thing. Now I'll ask, why does anyone need or want a centerstand on a Victory, especially when it won't lift either tire off the ground? That makes it useless for for tire/wheel service or cleaning. This comes from one who, for six decades, refused to buy a bike that didn't have a centerstand, until my present bike, the XR I now own and find that I don't miss having a centerstand at all. For service work, I have a lift.

+1 for the Witchdoctor centre stand. I've had one for about 6 months now and it is great. Easy to use and does not scrap while leaning on either side. If you want to have a centre stand then try it out.

I'll post pics later today. I just couldn't yesterday.

Very aggravating!

I can only think of two things. Checking the oil and for some folks it might be easier to get on and off when riding 2 up. I've seen people sitting on their running bike waiting for the rest of the people to get going and then take off from the stand. Could be just something some people like to do.

I think I would prefer to have the engine plate to make it easier to lift.

I remember watching the video you posted of the center stand.

Tough lesson learned.
