How strong is the rear fender support? - Victory Forums

Yes, I'm an idiot.

I removed all my tins in preparation for painting over the winter. I went to put my bike in the shed yesterday and proceeded to get stuck in the mud. There's no way to slide it out, so I'm going to use a tripod assembly used to hoist people out of sewers to lift it.

The plan is to attach the cable to the rear fender support and lift the back end enough to get a piece of plywood under. Then do the same for the front, attaching it to the handlebars or around the forks. Not sure about that part yet.

Do you think that the fender support should be strong enough to lift?

Do not try to lift any part of the bike useing the rear fender. Its not designer to suppor what 600 pounds.
Get some help and put straps under motor or threw the wheels or just have you and a Buddy and push

So, wrapping a strap around the tire would be a more sensible option for both ends then? I'll be only lifting one half at a time, and getting my son to keep the bike stable while I am lifting it. (hand cranked)

Yes, the wheel will take the entire load of the bike. The fender support is only designed to hold the fender up. You will at least bend it if not rip it off.
