Bike shifts with a bang, at low RPMS, so everybody else can notice you ride a man's bike - you don't just shift, you drop the hammer and go.

Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

It's funny you say this CrossRoads! It's exactly how I feel when I ride my bike! Coming from Japanese bikes and not "really" knowing if I ever got into the next gear (til I released the clutch), I find the "hammer" sound/feel of the Vic to be a huge asset! Heck, my wife even commented how she likes the shifting..Her first words after asking for a ride were "Wow! This is a man's bike!" Hahahaha

Anyway, whenever I read magazine reviews where authors mark off a Vic for clunky shifting, I kind of shake my head--I love the transmission just the way it is!

Happy Turkey Day!

Could never have said it better. I feel goosebumps when I hear that loud CLICK, cause I know it means a helluva ride is coming up.

Sorry for the profanity

If it really bothers you; you can just stay in first with the clutch pulled in at lights.
Or you can get a POS Harley.
