You know I'm willing to bet that all of us are much closer to the middle on most issues. It is sad though that a few are so extreme to believe Obama does not have the country's best interests in mind. He really needs to get this fiscal cliff wrapped up. Hopefully Boehner gets on board

Be your own leader. When you need heart surgery, go down to Lowes and by an axe and some tubing. You can use Weedeater string to sew yourself back together when you're finished.

Life is temporary, you'll have to narrow your definition a little. And some people simply will never be able to work for themselves. Are you for letting them starve? "It's the Darwinian thing to do." Think that's the pitch your next candidate will make to the Evangelicals?
I certainly DO think we spend too much on defense and it should be cut properly... and when Obama is done with this country's health care system we WILL need to go to Lowe's and do our own heart surgery, the socialist healthcare systems in other countries are NOT good... all you do when you try to give 'free' care to EVERYBODY is to bring EVERYBODY down to a crappy system for all.

The permanently helpless should have most of their help come from family, and community sources (voluntary charity), with some minimal subsistance help from gov't... the temporary help should be TEMPORARY, I don't know, 6 months.

Regardless of those specifics you can't do what we do now.... have you noticed, we can't afford it. We borrow every penny we 'give away', smart.

There you go again dave, more of your standup routine....

If you just looked into Obama's background a 'little', you see he does NOT LIKE AMERICA, or our Constitution, that's not my extreme position it's HIS extreme position.

When he collapses our dollar, and you see the UN begin to dicate to the US you'll see his plan evolving...

Fiscal cliff... HE BROUGHT US HERE more than anyone or anything else... and his solution will be MORE TAXES, which doesn't help much, he'll never 'really' cut any gov't programs, except defense (remember his whispers to the Russians).. sooner or later even you will see the folly of the TAX and SPEND liberals... it can't work.

The repubs will cave to Obama and taxes on the rich will go up, and the effect will be... unnoticable... let's see what tax goes up next, and on who, and after that, etc., etc., tax and spend is his big plan. Obama care his one of his HUGE taxes that's going to hit ALL of us, not just the rich.

Of course he'll begin to cut frivolous things right, they do add up, he'll probably start with the useless give away to PBS... oh, I guess he won't even do that. And you expect big gov't cuts???? I don't think even you expect that... you think TAX THOSE RICH BASTARDS will fix everything....

I've never seen so many people asleep with their eyes open.

Your comedy routine would be funny if our Country wasn't at stake.

Lance no stand up. Lets just say for a moment Boehner had put the USA first during the 4 Trillion dollar debt reduction plan. Now remember Boehner is the one that said the Republicans were getting 98% of what they wanted. SO we saw our rating go down, stock market tanked and all because of Boehner. Now in the above scenario which of those 2 hate America more?? Boehner or Obama?

The repubs wanted spending cuts tied to any deal, as far as I can recall, I don't pay that much attention to all this, I have my minions out doing that...

Obama won't agree to any 'real' spending cuts, (anything you can show about 'cutting' is giberish on paper as he manipulates numbers, the proof of his inability to cut ANYTHING is in his 'Big Bird' position, he only wants taxes raised, on the rich as some sort of 'visual' since such tax hikes don't do anything for our biggest problem, the massive debt.

The credit rating companies wanted to see 'real' plans for proper fiscal management, Obama can't do that since his liberal tax and spend big gov't agenda won't allow for such things.

If you think it was just that tax deal that resulted in our credit downgrade you are not paying attention...

Just as his screwy manipulated bankruptcy of GM saved a zillion jobs.. (you listen to too much Maddow), GM would have simply restructured and become a better company or sold to someone who could run it right... instead we got Gov't and Union control of GM, which will most likely result in GM going under again... companies restructure all the time and continue producing their product and keeping essential jobs... We'll probably even get Twinkees again, this time without an oppressive union. (I only mentioned the above because I had a sudden urge for a Hostess Cupcake)

As for your who hates America question, sit down in a comfortable chair and read Obama's 'Dreams' book... it's clear who the enemy is.

Lance please do a little research before you post. It was not a "tax" deal. It was debt reduction. Google it and you can even ind videos of that douche Boehner leading us to believe it was going to be a done deal

Lance, they do that to screw Dems. It's not hard to Google the presidents with the big deficits. Reagan started them, Clinton fixed them, Bush II brought them back and nearly wrecked the economy so badly even a Democrat had to run them again to prevent complete collapse. I agree with you that spending needs to be cut, but there are only three areas of the federal gov't with sizable spending i.e. defense, SSI, and Medicare. Two of those are mandated, independently funded insurance programs. Romney's plan was to cut taxes and increase defense by $2 trillion! How in Peter Pan's name did you think he would cut the deficit doing that?

Meanwhile, during the Bush presidency, laws were either invoked or overlooked that allowed his rich campaign contributors to prosper while working dopes stagnated as inflation marched on.

There's a new sheriff in town. No one is calling for the rich to return their ill gotten gains, but laws that make things a little more equitable for the working man are long overdue. We were *all* far more prosperous before the Ayn Randers took over our gov't.

You know nothing about that which you are babbling. We had a credit crisis. There was NOBODY to loan GM or anyone else anything. They would have evaporated and taken down all their wealth creating suppliers with them. We would have instantly zapped the MAJORITY of the wealth creating engine of the USA. Even Bush wasn't that stupid and he initiated the loans to keep them afloat.

You don't need to watch Maddow. In fact, while I think she's pretty sharp, she understands little about business or finance. To break your Fox dependency, try a business channel, hell even the Fox business channel. You will learn WHY Europe is in crisis. Hint: it has NOTHING to do with socialized medicine.

I saw this in the South Bend Tribune "voice of the people" the other day
Always Bush

A thousand years from now archaeologists will sift through the ruins of the United States searching for clues as to what caused the demise of the once-great nation. Sifting through the debris they will discover the all too familiar signs of cultural decay.

The legalized execution of the unborn. The banishment of God from the public square. The dissolution of the family. The forsaking of its constitutional foundations. The rampant pursuit of unbridled hedonism in place of virtue.

Not satisfied they have found the linchpin, the search will continue until one intrepid seeker stumbles across a fragment of paper. Reading its contents with widening eyes he excitedly calls out to his colleagues declaring he had found the key to unlock the mystery.

Surrounding him with breathless anticipation, they hear him, in solemn tone, read the fateful pronouncement. "It was Bush's fault."

C'mon dude are you serious, this country became a great world leader in less than 300 years of existence. Many others have been around for thousands of years. The USA either created or perfected almost everything you use in your daily life, and don't even think about it.

NOW STOP AND THINK ABOUT IT !!
