Hi all,
I have a 2012 cct that looses ALL POWER intermittantly. I pull over to side of road and re set key to off then the on position, reboot kill switch from on to off and back on , hit starter butter and right away it starts and will be ok for 8/1,000 miles then will loose power again. Checked battery connections and battery connection. All good. Dealer says possible defective main relay. Still on warranty. Any suggestions?
Thank You

Do you have a relay ordered? Poor connections are usually just a start and go, no reset of anything required. However,,,,,,,,Did you check both ends of the battery cables? With a wrench? A bad ground can do the same thing. Take it off, see if there is paint, gunk or junk hendering the connection. A grab and shake can be deceiving.
These kind of things can be a nightmare to track, especially with multiple ground points like I am sure this bike has because of the remote battery location.
Good luck.
you can get relay at auto parts store Radio shack
pull out old one plug in new one
Coast is low
Are you blipping the throttle thats a no no

Thanks for the imput lostintexas. Today, the dealer found that the main breaker fell apart in his hand as he was making his final check. He changed the breaker and we'll see if that solves the problem. Seems to be running much better
Thanks bcflyguy aka Neil

Hi Visionjohnny,
What does blipping the throttle mean? The problem that was found today was that the main breaker fell apart when being checked. Must have had a rock hit it or something.
Still want to find out about blipping
Thanks bcflyguy

If I say this right. When you shift gears you give it a little gas so the gears mesh easier. Giving it the gas is called blipping. Or when you sitting at the stop light you hear some keep giving the bike quick shots of gas thats blipping. Our Vic don't like it cause the FI don't react that fast cause of our Idle Air Valve . So if you do it wrong you can kill the motor.
I'm sure some one can explain it better. Happy your up an running.

Did the main breaker thing work out?
There's a bunch of ways for the bike to quit and then start right back up but a "main breaker" falling apart is a new one on me. Possible, just odd.
Hey admins, can this thread get relocated to somewhere else? I'm interested if this is a one time issue or what. The riders lounge is good for changing the world but motorcycle repair doesn't get much press here.

That wouldn't kill his electrical power though. I'm thinking the scoot is fixed now.
