Mine was giving me problems too but my problem was not my tailbone but my leg joints because of a 36" inseam and my knees being higher that my butt causing pain in upper joints after a while riding. I bought a $14 wheelbarrow inner tube and what a difference. It may work for you too with the pressure on your butt cheeks instead of your tailbone. I don't know how long your legs are so it might put you up too high but it would be adjustable by air pressure too. $14 isn't going to break the bank to give it a try. I am going to make a sheepskin cover for mine. Just an idea for you.

I'm having similar issues and looking for a solution, got a Airhawk R and it's not helping.

I did get an Ultimate seat, and yes it did help greatly.

I have exactly the same issue as zilla. Been through the cortisone shots and it did help for a while. I'm now trying to lose some extra weight I've carrying around since I quit smoking 12 years ago.

The Ultimate seat really helped me too but it wasn't a cure all. On the Pin I ride in a more forward lean that takes some of the weight off the tail bone so it's actually a more comfortable ride in that respect but would not be good overall for long rides. I'm thinking taller bars might make it better on both bikes. I'll see in time.

When properly adjusted it helps to bettter support your lower back supporting you forward just a tad which could help take pressure off of your tailbone.

I agree 100% on your explanation about how the backrest can indeed help to take pressure off of your tailbone.

I had the cct heated seat on my CR. loved it.. But, I would get extra padding to push it forward an inch and get a back rest next time. 1600 mile trips didn't hurt my ass, but I found I was leaning forward and my upper back and shoulders would get tired. I can tell you absolutely, my 2013 AGXC's seat is not as comfortable as the heated touring seat was. I'll definitely be looking for another one.

You might try a CC seat from a 2011 or 2012. Worked for me. Often found for sale from those who buy aftermarket seats.
