I posted this on the *** too so I'm spreading the net (figuratively speaking)
I have the Vic backrest for me on my Ness. Come to find out it severely affects both my wife's and 8 year old daughters comfort. It APPEARS its so far back toward them it's encroaching on their seating area.
If I ride 2 up without it they are good. Is there anyone else that has this issue?
I also find it interesting that the slot in the seat for the driver's backrest is so far back from the back pad in the seat that the adjuster nut in the backrest has to be screwed in all the way to move the rest forward enough to align the rest with the seat.

I use the utopia back rest and have had no complaints. It does look like a small area for the passenger. So far three different people have been back their.

If you look at the pic, there's like 9" from the bracket to the back of the sitting part of the seat. 9" in another subject is more than enough but not here (so my wife tells me)
I'll make it easy for you just trade me your bike for mine even up and the wife will be happy a long with your daughter.
NO don't leave your backrest at home just trade me.

+1
IF I buy a back rest (and I miss mine from my TC) I believe the Utopia is the way to go from the posts I read. I COULD be mistaken but I think I read somewhere that CycleOps was building a riders backrest as well but I will be darn if I can find that post. I know I have seen nothing but positive on Utopia such as A-Dogs post.
Alot of cash to drop anyway you slice it but I know I WONT be buying the VV stocker. As for smaller space, that has been the comment I have recieved from the back seat as well and I know my riders have been a bit more pressed up against me so I believe it may be true.
