I got a Airhawk in hopes of making my CR seat more tolerable.

Well that didn't work. Went by their recommendations, and made it less than 50 miles and had to stop. Which is a lot less than I went without it.

I added air in hopes that was what I needed. Well that was worse. Shortly after I headed for home.

I got one for the GF too, and she said she felt better than before, so maybe tha's the answer for her.

I'm not sure what direction to go now. New seat or have mine reworked.

All I know is, if THAT doesn't make the bike rideable the way I like to ride, The CR will be gone, sad to say.

What's the issue? It may not be the seat at all. It may be the bars.

Feels like all my weight is on my tailbone. I did bring the bars up, and that helped a little.

I take it you don't have a backrest. If not take a peace of board or something that will give the affect of a backrest and try that. Or maybe your dealer has a bike with a back rest you could try to see if it would make the difference your looking for.

I just got my 2012 CR yesterday and rode it 120 miles home. My wife is very disapointed in the seat since we had a Mustang on the trade in (VTX1300c)
We don't have Backrests. I'm looking at the Passenger Backrest PN 2877950. But Wow! $$ I can't afford one for me 2.....

What have others done?
Have the stock pad redone? if so how much $$
Bought a different seat? are there other brands than ultimate?
Mustang said they don't make one for the CR.

What seems to be the best path to take on this?

Nope, no backrest. I'm not sure how one would make a difference.

Given the location of your pain, it may not.

If I were you, I'd send my seat out to Spencer's (or someplace similar). It's an inexpensive test.

Failing that, perhaps look at a custom seat (obviously more money).

did you ever talk to brents in sterling? i should have the extra one
late this week or early next .you can use one of mine if you
decide to mod yours. maybe mean city or someone the guys
have talked about. if you would like to try my backrest that
can be arranged too.--irv

I may play around with the Airhawk some more, but I think i'm done with pads.
