exhaust and fuel mapping

First post and 100% new to Victory and bikes for the most part. Used to ride 7 or 8 years ago, but nothing like the Vegas. I am picking up a 07 Vegas 8-ball tomorrow. I hope to order exhaust within a few days. In my research I see that the exhaust comes with a new tune for the EFI. The first question is how does that tune get loaded to the bike? Can I do it with the right equipment and if so what is that right equipment? I have seen recommendations for fuel managers like VFC III. Those look simple to install. If I install one of those at the same time is the remapping needed at all? How much does a dealer usually charge to remap the bike?

A few things,

Welcome to the VF.

Second there are a bunch of threads on this very subject. No less than 2 circulating recently. The search feature is your friend and likes to be used like a $2 hooker.

Third you cannot do the download yourself.

Fourth, you don't need a tuner unless you are planning on doing internal work to the engine.

I'm assuming by you member name you have an 07 Vegas.

The best download is the S&S 05 Hammer DRAG download.

This is a technical question and we have a forum especially for Technical issues. You have a netter chance of getting a quicker answer when you post in the correct forum. I will move this thread to that forum.

Very good welcome thanks. I used the search, but still was not sure. One follow up. I read that the tune should be in place before you run it after putting on the exhaust. How big of a deal is that if I got to go 20 miles to the dealer?

20 miles will be OK. The bike will be running lean so you don't want to push the engine.
