Anyone have one on their bike? where did you mount the ballast?

I have one for the low beam and one for the high beam. I have slim ballasts and both are mounted inside the headlight bucket. I could have taken pictures when I had the headlight bucket open, but didn't think it was anything special. They fit quite nicely and were a simple plug-in.

They're excellent and well worth the money (no, I didn't get the Victory stamped one for $550).

where did you source them from, crossroads? Were the bulbs designed for the halogen-type reflector?

Thanks, I'm not spending that much for an HID headlamp. I did the same thing to my Charger and my Jeep. I didn't know if you had any problems with overheating in the headlamp. I'm probably only going to do low beam, the amount of light these things put out I hardly ever use high beams in my cars. I can only imagine what it'll do for the bike.

I know this is a disputed subject (HID conversion kits in halogen headlights) on many forums, but I just don't care lol. With the bike, there are enough idiots out there that "don't see" motorcycles... I'm in the mind set that the more visible you are the better. it's now legal in Pennsylvania to run LED ground effects lights on motorcycles (still illegal for cars I believe) to make bikes more visible. As far as I see it, these kits fall under the same category, they produce twice the light and make the road and yourself more visible, thus making your ride safer.

I get my kits from vvme.com, they are located in china and shipping is a little expensive, but they have the best kits out there price and quality wise. The kits usually arrive to your door step in 3 days. I will note that some kits you have to reverse the plug-ins. I've had to do it will all my kits but they work flawlessly.

They are designed to replace halogen bulbs in their original housing. Since they are only 35watt (not 55watt), temperature is not an issue - They're shock proof and water proof.

I've had them for about 4,500 miles so far, and love them. I feel low beam is plenty but whenever I ride I have both low and high beam on. I figure I can't be too visible.

Agreed. Btw, this system provides 3300 (+/- 100) Lumens at 35 watts per bulb. With low beam only, that is 3300 (+/- 100) Lumens, and when riding with your high beam on, the headlight will put out 6600 (+/- 100) Lumens. The stock light bubls in our Victory bikes produce 1050 (+/- 150) Lumens for low beam, and 2100 (+/- 150) Lumens for high beam. So, it's three times more light than the stock setup.

Slim ballast 55w 6000K...bright but not blinding bright.

any heat issues? do you have highs and lows?

I had the 55w from DDM in my quad and never had a problem. I was just curious if two in the same housing lit at the same time would cause an issue.

Only have low beam...no need for hi's with low being so bright

There's no such thing as too much light. I would love to have two 55w lights on my bike.

I ran my 35w low beam all day today, no heating issues, i can see where there would be space issues with two slim ballasts inside the headlight bucket. in all reality, the high beam won't be used again. i don't use the high beam in my Jeep, the same went with my charger and i had the headlights blacked out, hence the HID kits. One low beam is all you'll ever need, save the $$ for chrome or something else.
