looking for a GPS replacement

I'm looking for a gps that I can see clearly during the daylight hours. I presently have a Tomtom 330s that I bought about 6 yrs ago but I'm unable to see the screen clearly. I bought a hood for it but it didn't seem to help much. Has there been any improvement regarding this issue or are there other units that I should be considering? If I had the money I'd buy the Garmin (Victory accessory) that is Vision specific. I can't justify the $1200 price tag. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks for any of your replies.

I have the Garmin Zumo 665. I have it plugged into the aux input cable. I wanted my XM radio and XM Nav Weather. I don't think the 665 works with the Victory harness, but it works using the aux jack.

Its expensive, but it works great and I only have one device mounted on my bars.

Thanks for the reply. How is the daytime clarity of the Zumo 665 and is the audio loud enough to hear. I believe the Victory accessory version is also a Zumo 660 and if I read the info right there is a harness that can be connected to the radio so that you can hear the commands through the speakers.

I have a TomTom Rider 1 and LOVE it.

Great clarity on the screen in bright sunlight, can be user-set to auto dim at night as well.

Comes with a Bluetooth and 2 earpieces. One is a simple earbud, and the other is a speaker and mic that you can velcro in and out of a helmet. I leave this in my Shoei, and if I wear another helmet I just use the earbud. Loud enough for me with my RPW pipes blasting too.

I bought mine off of eBay from a seller called zkarlo, they have a very unique mounting setup that comes with it, so mine mounts front and center between my risers, or can be mounted on the bars by the grip if I wanted. I paid $180 for it, then had to buy the Bluetooth separate from zkarlo (they had none at first) and that cost me just under $100.

It's small & portable, so I can take it from one bike to my other easily. No external speaker, so it is weather resistant, no worries about downpours.

The daylight clarity of the Garmin is very good. I have had a 660 and now the 665 and had no complaints on either.

My 665 has the XM radio in it, the output of the GPS and XM come out one plug, its plugged into the aux jack of the bike radio so everything comes thru the speakers. I have never tired to have the garmin giving directions thru its little speaker, I usually have the music too loud for that. I have the "navibitch" muted anyway, when I'm using it as a route, I pay attention to the visual prompts on the unit instead of the annoying voice commands. I go "off route" quite often so its always recalculating.

Both units can have up to 16GB micro SD card and can be used as an MP3 player as well.

I dont know if the Victory 660 mount would allow commands to come thru if you're listening to something else, I think thats how its supposed to work, but I have no experience with it.
